A member of the Lardy Army was on BBC Radio 5 Live this morning, and he said that Barnsley fans were amazing, and the nicest he's ever met in over 40 years' of watching football. He also said that they sent a pack of lard to the Carlisle Chairman (a couple of years ago, in the FA Cup), and they also sent a pack of lard to our Chairman or CEO, but hadn't had a response.
That's really good to see about our supporters. Appreciate he's no longer CEO but was Khaled a Muslim? That could explain why the club haven't responded to receiving a pack of pig fat...
I like the Horsham fans, and their humour. However, sending lard to a Muslim could be taken really badly. At best it's clumsy, it could be interpreted as insulting, racist. I think this is an occasion when Khalid's silence is probably the most diplomatic thing.
As far as I’m aware Khaled is still ceo. They’ve announced he’s leaving, not that he’s left. He’s here until the end of the season unless they can get his replacement in earlier. Unless I’ve missed something he’s still in-role. And yeah, sending pork fat to a Lebanese Muslim is at the very least a little clumsy.
I don't think I'd be happy if they sent me a block of pigs jizz either lol. But their fans do seem ok, their positive comments about us are appreciated. I still hope we stuff em tonight though.
