Ah just checked Sutton is a real problem if coming from Barnsley as LNER and East Midlands are striking, if travelling from anywhere else the effects should be less as the southern operators are not affected by the walk outs though the overtime bans will cause some disruption
Reading has just the affects of the overtime ban so train to Reading should still work

Which train company will be affected on what day?
    • Saturday 2 December at East Midlands Railway and LNER
    • Sunday 3 December at Avanti West Coast, Chiltern, Great Northern Thameslink, and West Midlands Trains
    • Tuesday 5 December at C2C and Greater Anglia
    • Wednesday 6 December at Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, SWR main line, SWR depot drivers, and Island Line
    • Thursday 7 December at CrossCountry and GWR
    • Friday 8 December at Northern and TPT

Grand Central from Wakefield or Doncaster will still be running

What about the 9th mate? Not off to Reading, but need to know if the trains will be running from Doncaster or Sheffield to Lincoln.

Just having a look now, seems like there's a partial service.

CrossCountry look to be running from Sheffield to Reading for that fixture. At least the viaduct is open again now so the trains can get past Oxford...

Great, that's me and no doubt plenty of others not going to Sutton then.

I'm 95% behind striking workers but ffs, why do they always do it on a bloody Saturday? And before anyone states the obvious, I know why, it's still bloody frustrating. Rail companies and the government are a bunch of absolute greedy tossers

Edit: if Hull trains are running I can at least get across to Grantham, did the same for Orient when EMR cancelled all theirs due to storm something or other
