Anyone taking in another game on Saturday? I'm at Barrow v Crawley. As with many others on here I'm sure, it's long been on my bucket list. The Fans Football Grounds make it quite cleat from its Fan Reviews that this is the worst fan experience of any ground in the League. So that will be nice. Luckily the weather is a plus. Heavy rain and gusts of 50mph. Still I should be able to sample the joys of Barrow town centre before the game. Wonder if they have a new bridge.
Been twice in last couple of years, went to football on the Saturday and Barrow rlfc v Fev Rovers on the Sunday. Stayed at Wetherspoons Hotel for the weekend and it's a really nice hotel. Like most towns now a tad run down but its not bad, football ground isn't as bad as some folk make out. It's nice and compact with 3 stands and a good atmosphere.
going to watch TNS v Arbroath in the scottish cup, another ground ticked off, only tenner a ticket too
Been to Barrow (not the ground) a long time ago (1982) it was a bit of a down market version of Rotherham. So don't get too excited.
Once went to Forfar v TNS. Swapped a United scarf for TNS one. I was hoping United got that tie. Would have made a different trip. We are at Falkirk tomorrow and it’s live on BBC Alba if anyone is interested.
Not on Sat but now going to watch Llandudno play Ruthin tomorrow. It’s the first home game in a year as they had their 3G pitch condemned last season and have been playing away at other grounds during that time. My son plays for a grassroots team at the same ground so it was the first time they have played on the new pitch tonight.
Was at Forfar today Ian, can recommend the Cullen Skink in the Old Mill , Forfar, lovely drop of soup.
Nice to hear. Pity you did not let me know earlier. Could have met up for a pint. Any excuse for a drop of alcohol
Had to google the old mill. Never heard of it. A camp site on the outskirts of Forfar. Hope you had a nice time.
did arbroath v morton last year coldest ground ive been to but deffo experience so looking forward to seeing the lichties again closer to home
Well they are not having the best of seasons this year. Good chance is progression for TNS. I hope not as I like Arbroath and you are right about Arbroath being a bit chilly at times. Only a couple of yards off of the North Sea.
This sounds strange and don't judge, but we are having a christmas shopping Saturday - at the Metrocentre in Gateshead. Weird I know, but it became a bit of a pre Christmas tradition a while back but we haven't been for several years. After being no further than the front door all week, I am just looking forward to the drive. The shopping bit in the middle I can take or leave. But there will be a few lingering coffee shop stops.
