The 3 largest religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - all believe in the same god. That never helped them in the past. Even just in Christianity, the Catholics and Protestants have been fighting over religion for several centuries. And, at the root of it, they all teach being good to each other. The only problem is the religious leaders and their followers. Apparently the Bible wasn't against homosexuality until the 1800s, when someone did a translation that changed boy to man. So Leviticus 18:22 - a saying against paedophilia became about homosexuality and was used to punish gays for the last 200 years. "Man shall not lie with boys as one lies with a woman" became "Man shall not lie with man..." In the words of Ghandi "I like your Christ, but not your Christians. Your Christians are not like your Christ."
Tbh, if everyone truly loved their neighbour as themselves and treated others as they wished to be treated we'd have a much better world.
It would be even nicer if people treated others as they'd like to be treated, as some people like being arseholes and treat others that way too.
