The clubs a complete joke, it has been for years. These lot who own it are just as bad as the last lot. Id give my left bollock for Patrick Cryne back, and he wasn’t perfect by any stretch.
Exactly how I feel. Not renewing next season i wasn’t going to this season but this today once again sums it up for me. We don’t seem to learn from anything and seem to lurch from one mistake to the next. I mean this is right up there with the most daft things I’ve ever heard of something I would expect from a Sunday league side to do. A grassroots manager said this kind of issue wouldn’t happen at u12 never mind a professional club.
I was thinking about knee jerk reactions to a bad win or a good run as well but cant deny we seem to have made one **** up after another under the current CEO.
The first fan engagement after the west stand debacle we were asked to submit our questions in writing and they would read them out and respond Luckily my question was first out “ why are you treating the loyal fans with utter contempt “ Khaled sort of smirked and tried unsuccessfully to bat the question away People’s opinion on him differ greatly on here but that first encounter made my mind up on the man As much as others will tell you he cares about the club , it’s boll;x It’s a job , unfortunately one he doesn’t do very well
I’m no conspiracy theorist but I don’t expect the Directors or even the CEO to know the rules of the cup and who can or can’t play but I struggle with idea that no one employed by the club including players didn’t know Marsh wasn’t eligible particularly when a fan picked it up an hour before the game when they saw the team sheet , some sculduggery going off
I reckon the club has sacrificed it's F.A Cup money to try and off set the potential ownership punishment. Look at us we're honest. Go easy on us because we've lost money already.
If they care why have they all, not just Khaled but all of them, blanked supporters wanting to know where the kits they paid for were? If they care why did the owners sit next to Khaled and stay silent when he was so disrespectful to supporters at the last meeting? Why wasn't he stopped from his insulting answers? If they care why did they not answer the supporters trust properly when asked about the first Horsham fiasco? They don't care unless it suits them to care. that's what the evidence shows. And personally having nice private chats with people who walk up to them isn't caring. It's basic pr. What is caring is giving a **** about the thousands who aren't in the fan zone to talk to them. It's actually acknowledging problems publicly. They have the ability to do that through their own website but choose not to. Why if they care?
Except that the FA are in charge of the FA Cup and the ownership issue is in the hands of the EFL, so the two are entirely separate from each other, in terms of jurisdiction.
I think that's me done. Lost interest and confidence and I think this gargantuan **** up is the final straw for me.
I genuinely think the owners and directors really do want what's best for us, and I guess that's why I'm not shouting get out of my club. But too many mistakes and supporters being at the rough end of it is weighing in much heavier. I commented just after the play off final, that I was nearly swept up in it all. And after careful consideration I didn't get a ST as I felt nothing had ultimately changed. Unfortunately, I think it's got worse. And that's painful to say
Felt exactly same after that last fan forum. From beginning to end Khaled was aloof and arrogant and then started going on about how he was "a good person". Really changed my view of him.
Haven't been to the ground since Feb 2020, and tbh, not really missing it. Constant sales whenever we look like making progress, coupled with an uncomfortable stadium that has become increasingly difficult to get to and impossible to park at make attending games unappealing to me. I can't see where the club has any ambition.
Totally agree (yes again). I pick and choose my games now as I'm completely demoralised and have been so pretty much after the very first fire sale of decent players. The club is poorly run and the owners/shareholders do not show that they have any significant love /respect/ concern for the fan base and community. That attitude by the board has made me largely disaffected. I used to go all over the country supporting Barnsley. Used to have a season ticket for many years. I'm not really bothered anymore. My love has been destroyed. If it was a marriage I'd have filed for divorce a few years ago
I find it crazy that this can be brushed off as a individual mistake. There has been systemic issues in our club for a while, one of the main reasons Ive fell out of love with the club. There has only been 1 or 2 identical issues in over 100 years of football. Thats how ‘simple’ this mistake is. This is about our due diligence and disciplines in having basic processes and governance in place. We continuously embarrass ourselves, let fans down and fail to administer fundamentals of this sport. We make ‘mistakes’ in transfer dealings, business admin, health and safety, communications, fan engagement etc etc. Where is the accountability? When will it stop?
