By 23 games Duff had got us to 40 points with a run of 6 wins and a draw in the last 8 games. Not great confidence Collins can do the same but here's hoping!!
That's the fundamental difference between last season and this. It took Duff some time to get consistency into the team, but we found it and went on a run. We might be 3 points ahead of the curve at this stage, but we have no consistency and, arguably, look more disjointed as a team than we did a few weeks ago. If we're anywhere close to 40 points after the Peterborough game then I'll be somewhat surprised. 3 home wins gets us to 36 but, that's a big ask for a team that has only won 3 home league games all season so far.
Considering we have effectively lost our best 5 players from last season in Anderson, Thomas, Kitching, Connell and Norwood, it shows what a great job Collins is doing.
That is certainly one way to look at it, and that’s why he should be allowed more time, but performances as well as results need to improve massively going into Xmas.
Terrible football to watch, Christmas is the time to react as said all along The next five weeks will decide if we want Collins or not Personally he can go tomorrow for me with the performances we are producing
From this point on last season up to the end of the year we won 6 and drew 1. I’ll be absolutely amazed if we even come close to repeating that. 16 points required from next 7 games to be in the same position points wise. Looking at those next 7 games I genuinely don’t see us getting more than 7 or 8 points. Hope I’m wrong….
