We didn't come from behind twice though. We changed tac and came from behind. We were playing attacking football on the front foot, collins bottled it AGAIN and reverted to type. If you think that's fine, keep on clapping!
Fans started turning chanting Neil Collins your football is **** got to agree so boring n predictable
It’s not just the football, it’s how easily we concede. Whether it’s a stupid penalty we give away or just a simple ball or set piece into our box. We’re so shaky it’s untrue. Killip is a big part of that. Very poor keeper.
[ 90% of people would've taken that. The other 10% are daft.[/QUOTE] before the game maybe, at 2-1 up nahh
I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on the decision to give a corner. I agree it was a poor goal to concede, but most goals are, They will say the same about the 2 goals they conceded. However it shouldn't have been a corner. They should have never been given the opportunity to score from it. That to me, is not much different to a penalty that shouldn't have been given.
Whether it was a corner or not is irrelevant. What led to them getting into a position to almost score from the header that went over? (The header that should have resulted in a goal kick and not a corner, you're correct) the fact we went defensive and allowed them time and space down our channels led to the corner that shouldn't have been. That's Collins' fault, not the ref. The defending of the corner was abysmal too by the way.
You really should watch it back, because this is not, in any way, an objective assessment. We're all allowed opinions, but this is demonstrably incorrect. Count how many Barnsley players we have behind the ball when we give away the corner from which they score. Count how many players we have in our half when McCart brings down their player, very cannily and he gets away with it, in what is another of many Lincoln attacks in the last 10 minutes. We're under pressure because we have, for pretty much the whole period after we've gone 2-1 up, 7 players camped in their half. I think there is some criticism to be had of how we approached the game after we took the lead. But it's because we went gung-ho, it is clearly not because we sat back.
What? How on earth is it irrelevant? They scored from the corner. Having a corner couldn't have been more relevant to their equaliser. And it was a corner they shouldn't have had.
Dont wanna be crude but…as the saying goes”You can only **** withe Prcik you got”…and unfortunately we got rid of all our decent centre halves and replaced them with inferior ones so….to be expected tht our defence is **** despite of who is the manager!
They wouldn't have got the luck of getting the corner if we'd not gone defensive and allowed them time on the ball. I'd stop digging, I can't see many people jumping to your defense on this one. Look, if you want to keep backing Collins, that's up to you. But don't try and defend him by making out the ref cost us and not his tactics. Everyone and their Mother could see what was happening when he reverted back to his usual MO
I think you're correct we went gung ho until we made it to one and then we sat back and then we conceded again
I'm not digging at all, and I don't need anyone to jump to my defence on anything. You seem to be trying to put words in my mouth, not sure why. I'm not talking about any other aspect of the game. I'm talking about their equaliser coming directly from a corner that shouldn't have been given.
If we are blaming the drop in points on the referee giving a corner then for me we also have to credit the referee with us getting anything out of the game at all because he should have given them a second penalty before we got back into it and McCart was a lucky boy at the end too.
Genuinely had forgot. Shows how much my interest is dwindling being stuck in this league, with this head coach and with no local derbies.
Exactly how I saw it. Not sure what people think sitting back means. We certainly didn't have bodies behind the ball which was very much evident in the situations you described
Feels like a defeat, especially as we came from behind to go in in front and totally bossed the 2nd half. They did look dangerous on the counter mind. I'm not shouting and screaming for Collins out or anything silly....there were too many subs too close together, he's at fault for that and I hope he learns from it. Williams had another poor day...Cole again not at races but put himself about. Thought Cozgrove did ok when he came on, Cadden was good, Connell, very influential. How many pens and fresh air kicks do we do in games? This suggests our back line are still not competent....mainly because they are work in progress.
