Were we chuff! We were the better side by miles! Massively frustrating that we stopped attacking when we went ahead as I think they'd have crumbled if we'd carried on getting at them. But the second half performance was very good, against a very well organised Lincoln side.

2 points dropped in the end.

Poor first half but upped tempo in second and got the lead but gave away a sloppy equalizer to throw away the win.

Tbf it could be argued that Lincoln sat back the whole second half...and we scored two.
They definitely were on the counter second half.
    .thats imho

Have we gone backwards from last season?

Last season Lincoln put 4 past us in three games, we failed to score, and never looked close to matching them. Today we should have won, but displayed our usual lack of discipline in giving away a penalty, and then lost focus in the last 10 minutes and allowed them to hit us on the break a number of times. But we showed miles more in this game than the 270+ minutes against Lincoln last season.

They all do make the odd mistake. And everyone since Radlinger has done. Unfair on Killip imho. Hes been more than ok. And hes not the problem. Poor defending is.

I just dont equate having 70% of the possession makes us the better side. We did nothing with it, tippy tippy sideways and backwards, no urgency, punting back to the keeper when we're losing. A point against Lincoln does not paper over that first half for me. Collins has no style of play, no plan, no passion, no leadership, no urgency and the players have changed from have an energetic cohesive style to not knowing what the plan is.
If we give it until Christmas when we're mid table before getting rid, it'll be end of Jan before we appoint and the windows gone.
That bullet needs biting now, to give someone a chance with transfers.

I am with you two on this. We did not sit back. Lopata spent nearly as much time in their half as he did ours when he came on. If through hitting a sloppy pass they hit you on the counter , that is not sitting back. I did enjoy it today though and I haven't been able to say that all season. Connells back sez it all.

Lincoln City 2-2 Barnsley | League One highlights | Video | Watch TV Show | Sky Sports

Doesn't show the corner award unfortunately, nor the challenge that looked like it should have been a second pen to them. Regardless, the defending at the corner is absolutely and sadly typically woeful, De Givigney with his usual no challenge at a set piece and McCarthorse and Slopata just stood statuesque watching the Lincoln players react to the rebound.

I'm not sure how they didn't go in 2-0 at half-time to be honest given the total aberration that MdG again had at 1-0.

We came back well and showed some spirit to get it to 2-1 and we'd have beaten a much weakened Lincoln team if only we had some defenders who could defend.

Respect your opinion mate but I have to disagree about Killip. Yes, the defence is poor in front of him but I think the fact that he has no presence in his area is making things worse. He just doesn’t seem to come for any ball into the box like Roberts did. I’d also like to see his save per shot ratio cos he doesn’t seem to stop an awful lot.

I get your point fully and agree that I can’t remember a much weaker defence at this level for a long time. Still say Killip has no presence though. Opinions eh….
