Seeing a keeper trying to waste time. Dive and try and win a free kick. And then drop the ******* ball.... I've never laughed as much in my life. Absolutely brilliant
It's almost like Valerian ball never happened. If you want to see s h1te "football", get some videos and enjoy!
That was fairly boring football at times, but it was all high intensity pressing football which was very successful and got us into the championship play offs that season. At one stage we won 9 out of 10 league games, and drew the other one. We also had an identity, a clear tactic and a fundamental plan where everyone knew their roles and performed it effectively. You can't say the same about this team, this season.
I’m not sure anyone is asking for or reasonably expecting free flowing, technically and aesthetically perfect play. Just a game plan, something that is setting us up to win games in the best way our squad is suited to, would be good. Remember Val’s squad was very very similar to the one which was nearly relegated - until the last kick of the previous season saved us - and also very similar the one which was relegated the following season. Say what you like about Val’s side but we had an action plan, the players were well drilled and knew their roles - and we were bloody good at it. The dreary, dour and boring side to side passing doesn’t even seem to really be a tactic in itself as it never leads to anything much and we end up pumping it long anyway a lot of the time. It’s baffling. I notice Val’s Watford are in very decent form after a slow start to the season as well. Owners rewarded for trusting him and extending despite the bumpy start. Don’t get me wrong. I know we aren’t going to appoint anyone who’d do it like Val did. ‘What’s the point in getting to the playoffs if you can’t sell any players?’ (Yes I know he’s leaving and the ownership has altered slightly but the operational aims are broadly the same). But that said, we weren’t meant to be appointing anyone doing what Collins is doing either.
