Have you and Kamikaze ever thought about becoming motivational speakers? Every time you post something I know it's going to knock my duck off.
I might be thick but I can’t see where he particularly praised her here. The headline doesn’t match his words at all and makes it sound like he waxed lyrical about her and called her the best thing since sliced bread.
She destroyed our town. Obliterated it. People had jobs, livelihoods, families, and she ended them. Often literally. And not just miners, but all the businesses that relied on the pits, from engineering firms to sandwich shops where the miners bought their butties. She killed it all. Even the football club, look at the attendances before the strike and compare to after. The pits were, predominantly, profit making and we needed the coal. We didn't stop burning coal when they shut the pits, we imported it. There were no replacement jobs for anyone, we were left to rot. I was at high school and we were basically told we had no future. To hear the leader of the Labour Party claim that Margaret Thatcher sought to drag us out of our stupor and set loose our natural entrepreneurialism is sickening.
You’ve done well to stay a member for this long, I stuck about a year of Beer Korma to see if I could influence things. No chance of that. Pack it in give your monthly subs to charity.
any praise however faint is absolutely unforgivable. She destroyed our country and ruined our town. The only words a Labour leader should ever utter is to celebrate her rotting in hell.

100% agree. However. Having spent most of my life outside Yorkshire, I can say with absolute certainty that most people (even many years ago) have no idea what ‘the north’, ‘miners’ or ‘community’ mean. ‘Scargill’ is recalled as some vague satanic figure much like Corbyn. I have heard folk down here say that the Tories are doomed. But ONLY because the Tories got shut of the much loved Boris. One way or another there's only one conclusion. We’re fecked.
My dad was a miner and I’m from Grimethorpe, I saw the effects all around me every day. My point was just that the headline did what all headlines do and grossly over exaggerated what was actually said. I think the thick bit applies though as I don’t really understand what ‘drag(ging) us out of our stupor and set(ting) loose our natural entrepreneurialism’ means.
mebbe so ( I couldn’t stand her btw) but he needs every vote he can get to get this lot out of power, and you have to remember not every area in the country detested her.
