Yes he has been dealt a tough hand but the way they have been getting pumped every week is embarrassing. After losing 5 nil and 8 nil to arsenal and Newcastle the hecky lovers on here said he should get more time with some winnable games coming up. The Bournemouth put 3 past them at home and Burnley 5 conceding after 15 seconds.

That said he will probably get another job in management and won't be coming here to be DOF.

I'm thinking Bobby has been basically running the Academy ie a mini version of the full thing. I suspect that is a similar role.

He Would be the ideal fit for me.

I think it doesnt work like that.
He'll get paid up probably on a terms in his contract. Of a % of future earnings. Or the rest of his contract in full. He is then free to join any other club without that pay off affected.

Unless he wants an easier life nearer home. He'll probably be offered another manager's job elsewhere.

To answer another poster. the New DOF is not a replacement for the CEO. He'll work alongside. Khaled or his replacement, when in place, as I read it in the Chronicle.

    DOF imo
is an ideal job imo for the likes of Mick
McCarthy.. Been there done it all. Has all the contacts. Admired by most.

He never learned from tweeting a photo of himself driving with champagne beside him after a MOTM award for us. Since then there has been a long line of things he didn't learn from.

They've lost their best two players late in the transfer window (one to a direct rival), they've suffered an unreal amount of injuries, and their defence is basically the same as what was relegated - but they're now 3 years older.

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to work out that they'd go down.

Completely agree. I loved him here but he’s done no end of stupid stuff.

I can remember him getting man of the match for us & then posting a photo of the award on his lap whilst driving. You could see the Speedo showing he was driving at the time he was taking the photo.

Might be ideal for someone based in the area but for a London based man in his 60’s with kids & grandkids down there I can’t really see the attraction to take on a job that will be on a pittance compared to what he’s earned for the last 30 years.

Going to be hard getting both the right CEO and DoF in. Both are different jobs.

DoF role needs to be someone who knows the league and the football in the country. I'm not overly fussed about it being a former player but needs to be someone who fits what we wanna do as well as someone with some experience. Someone mentioned Ed Waldron at Oxford. He's running their scouting department there but surely director of football is a step up and he's been doing a fabulous job.

Not so sure money would come into it. If comfortably well off. Some like to keep working for their mental well being. Well after retirement age. I reckon Warnock is one of those.
Also, I did mention for the likes of McCarthy. (Not specifically).who may not want to get back into management. He still has many family connections up here. So does his wife. ?.
I also think it would be the right Job for Bobby, permanent.

Supposedly Wilder has agreed to return...This is the same Wilder who bitched and moaned about the owner not spending money. Utterly bizarre if he goes back there and can't see it going well at all.

I do feel a bit of Hecky, he's got a worse team than what he had in the championship but some of those players aren't putting a shift in at all.

He's a top half Championship manager with a promotion to the PL on his cv, he's not coming to a mid table L1 team he's already been at, not til he's got a couple more failures on that cv anyway.
