Makes it sound like they're 1970's St Etienne, rather than the 2nd biggest and 3rd richest club in a country that cares about rugby far more than football.
I enjoyed Duff’s football more than I do now. However, I couldn’t accept him returning. How he left was terrible, and handled awfully. Spectemur agendo. Good luck building back your career somewhere else.
I don't see how last season can be called a failure, but then again it also comes down to having low medium or high expectations. None of us know if there were any other reasons why he/Duff left us. Apart from it being a bigger and better club in the Championship, offering more money and prospects, and it being closer to home, and showing ambition etc.
you’re not at all mate I respect your opinion and I know ours differ on this subject. It’s good to debate it. I am prepared to accept I might be being a touch gloomy / tainted because I find the football so dreary. I can’t handle this sideways football it drives me crazy. it’s why I loved it so much under Valerian ismael - a very clear set of instructions, to be very positive, executed well. The players also fitted the style of play perfectly
Just in and come across this news, so now they want someone to come in reconnect the club back with supporters, the opposite of what he had to do here. Bizarre, it's Swansea City, a few seasons in the Prem has gone to their head's
Val is my... second favourite Barnsley manager. I'm too old for anyone else to ever get close to the esteem in which I held Danny Wilson.
To be fair I probably would too if I didn't have a child taxi run to do at around the 60 minute mark. At least Bake Off has finished now. I usually got kicked off the main TV in the house before the match had finished. Fair enough I switched off voluntarily on Tuesday it was so bad, but I was forced to miss Max Watters and Jon Russell's goals at Cambridge, instead watching Tasha forget to switch her oven on while Rowan's jam tarts caught fire.
I guarantee if you ask him if knowing what he does now he'd still go to Swansea last summer the answer is yes. He's got a big payoff and his stock is no lower than when he left us. He'll have no trouble getting another job in the Championship or top of League 1.
Sounds like the Swansea board weren't in it for the long haul. Shame. I'm not usually cruel but he left a bitter taste in my mouth by leaving and citing 'ambition' after he'd said his long haul comments. He also effectively put my club back to square one. Losing decent players is bad enough but having to appoint another new coaching team weakened the club, at least in the short-term.
Good. Excellent manager for us all in, but it's a shame for the next League 1 club on which he pulls the "long haul" con. How far is Charlton from Cheltenham? Cross Country might still do a direct train from Derby...
