Seen it on the York City Knights RL fans forum that we've got Jon Flatman who used to be there. They speak very highly of him but i haven't seen owt on here or official website, as anyone else heard owt?
He was actually announced yesterday as interim CEO. Been with us a while and very well thought of in rugby circles.
He's been here about a year in the role of Chief Revenue Officer. I believe the club have landed their biggest shirt sponsorship deal ever under him. I'm not surprised to read some of the positive comments on the Rugby sites. He comes across very well in the dealings we've had with him.
Client of mine, ex Castleford rugby player, reckons he's the best thing since sliced bread. That'll do for me.
So we now have a new CEO and DoF. Can someone please explain to me where one's duties end and the other's begin 'cos I have no idea!
Neerav goes into some detail on the DOF role in the Fan Forum YouTube. Essentially, the DOF will be responsible for everything football-related recruitment, academy, coaching, analytics, etc. The CEO will concentrate on the overall running of the rest of the club—operations, commercial, marketing etc etc. The feeling was that it was too big a job for one person to be able to do both. Here's the advert for the DOF role. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/20232/november/director-of-football/
Yea in hindsight...I think the ceo role has been too much, for one person and for Khaled. I would like to think the new structure will enable us to handle this better included player dealings. I know Bobby is filling in but whoever we get.... needs to be a streetwise football person who can deal with deals, agents and the like. Football is a horrible world, with the people in it.
