Imho...a big improvement that 2nd half.
Phillips was much better and so was our defence. I thought up to us scoring the second it could have gone either way.
Another pleasing aspect was that as good as Yidaom is ...he was leaving space in behind and we knocked balls into that space and did exploit it...Phillips was one player who did that effectively.
Thought Cozgrove just by his size and application made it tough for the Royals and thankfully Cole's goal will give him confidence again.
    Great 3 points

Fans really need to get behind players like Cosgrove and Watters. I’m not suggesting accepting lack of effort - but I honestly don’t see that in either of those two. I think both will come good. Jalo has a big part to play too. We need to accept that all will make mistakes.

I’d love to think we could all lay off criticising every part of the club operation, including players, but it’s the nature of the game I suppose. I’m as guilty as anyone else for screaming out in frustration when I see something on the field I don’t like but, at the end of the day, I’m a long-standing fan and I can’t help it. But days like today keep me believing. None of these players are immune from making mistakes and we all need to accept that and just enjoy it when it goes right. That away record is pretty good- no denying that.

The other thing is that we are so close to the top, without actually being brilliant. If we want to get out of this league we need to cut some of our players some slack. If we encouraged more it might help.
I think back to the change in atmosphere last season when we started the scarf thing. It made a huge impact.

Was surprised when their player Aziz was subbed in the 2nd half. He'd shown Styles how to look inept at left back.
    Anyroadon, well done reds.
    Yiadom was good too.
Jalo showed his pace and strength well.

Isn’t it so much better when we try to get at sides, rather than sitting back and playing deep though

Exactly this; it’s better to watch and gives us a chance rather than trying to defend and failing.

should we have won, no, they were the better team, was it a 3-1 game no it was not, We need to have a week concentrating on our passing which as been very poor in recent games. we may and only just have deserved a point

We had 21 attempts to their 12. Even the Reading commentary team accepted that by the end it was a fair result.

Unfortunately. ‘ lack of effort’ is the go to for knocking most of our players by many. Mostly it’s a load of b@llox, a player can’t have a bad game, or go through a poor spell without having’ lack of effort’ nonsense thrown at them.

That’s because “effort” is the only attribute the majority on this board can actually rate themselves on. Doubt there are any BBS members who would get in our first team on skill, so they somehow attribute a poor game to effort in a vain attempt to make it look like the only thing it takes to win a football match is putting in the same effort as they do in their day to day job.

Think they were the better team first half but they failed to get the lead back first half when they were dominating

Looking at Watters goal again. That’s a sending off for their lad all day every day.
