How did Mr Yates perform vs Reading. We were correctly awarded a penalty which is always a bonus. I remember him from being at Oakwell last season that he's one of those reds who always blows his whistle to restart the game, even when it's not necessary. I'll update the league table in due course.
I thought he was poor - for both teams, 4 at best. Got lots of decisions wrong - missed blatant pushes and yet gave multiple silly ones where players wait for contact and then dive.
Gave a penalty that was a penalty but that we’ve seen not awarded to us on many occasions - but booked a lot of our players for next to nothing whilst leaving Andy Yiadom unpunished for a wild gbh. 5/10 and generous.
Not the worst we have had but that’s a low bar. Got lots of decisions wrong. But seemed to be for both sides so I think just incompetent not biassed. Gave us a few soft bookings but not the guy who tripped Jalo on the edge of the box or the one who stopped us taking a free kick and also ignored Cole being barged over in the area Worst was no action on Yiadom for the “red card” tackle on Watters which left us playing with 10 men whilst they kept all 11 5 out of 10 for me
4/10 for going against EFL directives to award us a penalty. 0/10 for poor handling of their dirty, sneaky play.

The ref in midweek did the same for the challenge on McAtee. I firmly believe he'd have given a penalty and a red card had we not scored that one too.
