    Absolutely. The others are playing a particular kind of Santa Claus but for me Huddleston is playing the image of Santa Claus that we all actually dreamed of as kids. The truly magical Santa who has no agenda at all except to be kind. It's him and then Attenborough for me.

    It's not just one of my favourite Christmas movies, it's actually one of my favourite films of all times. Reminds of being an innocent child where everything was magical

    There's been many versions of the character 'Scrooge', but I think Bill Murray nails it in his '80s version. :)

    I love Christmas time, but most of the films are crap. Bah humbug.

    National Lampoon's is one I'd watch more than once (and I do watch it every year).

    Oh, and another classic not mentioned yet, Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

    You only need to watch one of those dodgy American ones. They are all the same.

    A couple meet ( often years after knowing each other previously.) fall in love, split up and then get back together. THE END.

    think my wife has watched them all 5 times. Every Xmas we have to endure these rubbish Xmas movies :D

    I've made it a bit of a mission to unearth the treasures from those many, many, many made-for-tv Christmas movies. Couple to watch for; 'Christmas Perfection' (aka 'The Perfect Christmas Village'), which has become an annual watch in our house. Maybe it's so bad it's taken on cult status. That's 'cult', SD....

    The other one is 'A Christmas Movie Christmas', which as the name suggests, is pretty self-aware and pokes a bit of fun at the genre. The really bizarre bit is that both films share an almost identical scene where the main protagonist(s) wakes up in strange Christmas pyjamas in a strange Christmas town. Literally the same scene ...

    Its weird how we also associate certain films with Christmas as well, because they often get or used to get shown at that time.
    Films like The Italian job, Wizard of Oz, The Towering inferno, and Porridge. :)
