Close to leaving for nothing at the end of the season, when he moves back abroad, so we aren't entitled to compo.

I think we need to find a way to integrate him into the starting lineup.
Does he work off someone like Cosgrove or Watters or could he play with Cole?
If it’s that latter we need to change the way we approach the game to deliver the service they would need.

His family is well established over here so people believing he will want to go back ‘home’ I think is exaggerated.

Do you think they've even realised this scenario
Agreed, when he's out in the wide areas he causes damage, instantly opposing full backs realise they've got a job on their hands and drop off, nobody fancies him in a foot race get too tight and he's capable of turning you.
Preferably played in wider attacking areas giving him the licence to cut inside.

This probably won't be a very popular opinion, but I actually think we're managing him well at the minute, and I don't see the rush to have him starting. He's playing a lot of football at the minute, generally starting for the 18s and 21s and then doing half an hour in the first team. I'd say he's only just started making an impact in the first team, and for me is only likely to influence games where we need a fresh pair of legs when defending a lead at the minute. I think if we were to start him, it'd be at the detriment to the team, as he'd be taking the place of one of the more experienced pro's who are also performing at the minute. When fit, I don't think he's ahead of Cole, McAtee or Cosgrove, but I'm more than happy to get regular 30 minute run outs ahead of Watters. He is still only 18 after all.

That's my opinion like. Manage him right, and set him on the right path. Not like what we've done in the past with one or two others.

I would start by giving him minimum 45min in most home games. Sub for most away games and come on for half an hour depending on the situation. He is clearly a level above this league and will give us an additional threat. If he struggles we can reassess, it won’t do him any harm.
Who are the one or two others? If it’s who I think they were not at the same level as Jalo.

Couldn’t agree more. If we throw him in too early then it could have a disastrous impact on him. He’s young and hungry and the minutes that he’s getting at the moment are about right for him, you can see that he’s improving with each game so we must be doing something right.

You only have to look at Nobel-Lazarus and Dale Jennings to see what can happen to players who play too much too young. Build him up slowly and let him have 10 years at the very top.

There are many examples of players who have flourished after being introduced at a young age. Every one is a special case and should be treated as such.

It might sound soft, but I agree that we've got to try and 'look after' him, and not force things too often and too soon.
He surely deserves 30+ minutes a game though at the moment, more than what he's been getting from Collins.

Im sorry mate but this just isn't true. Hes a good young player with sky high potential. But he's definitely not clearly above this league. I have to agree with Archey, I think we're handling him quite well now, and its good to see him more regularly

We need to go steady with him. We might break him and ruin his later career at Man City, Tottenham or Benfica. Perish the thought of him being crap later on in his career for someone else.

Ultimately, I think the most important aspect is what Jalo believes his short and long term aspirations are and whether either includes Barnsley Football Club. I, personally, hope that the young lad thinks, in the short term at least, Barnsley is the best place for himself.

Or Wayne Rooney? I'm not suggesring playing him week in week out but I think the 2 you mention have to take a good look at themselves why they didn't have a better career. Especially jennings.

I think the lads a huge talent but been honest he’s not really impressed in most of the first team opportunities he’s had. There’s only really Doncaster away last season, Horsham at home this year & his cameo off the bench at Reading where he’s shown much ability.

In many other games it’s looked like he’s almost been trying too hard & not picked the right option.

I’m fully of the belief he’s better off developing with us as a back up option with regular minutes off the bench for now.

I could be wrong & at his age it could all of a sudden click but I don’t watch him currently & think he’s someone who should be starting most games.

I don't watch many of our strikers and think he's someone who should be starting most games. When the likes of watters and Cosgrove been poor and mcatee injured he should be getting more opportunities.
