Yeah they showed this film tonight, as the late Saturday night film, after Match of the day.
Wow, this is one of my all time favourite films, with Sean Connery playing his role as 'Ramirez' (even though he looked and sounded just the same as he usually did lol).
Freddie & Queen were banging out the music as well, and for me this film has aged very well.
It still looks as good to this very day. :)

I like that film as well but I did notice on the dvd copy on the final battle scene you can see the strings holding the actors up :D

Supposed to be doing a remake with Henry Cavill playing the lead.

One of my all time favourites too

Its a shame that the sequel was awful, and I never got into the spin off series either.
Is that right then, about a remake ?.

Loved it as a kid. I started watching it recently and struggled with it as it felt dated.

I always wondered why/how Christopher Lambert got the leading role as a Scotsman and then you have Connery playing a Spaniard

I've got to agree with that. It's rarely on, so when I saw it a year or so back I recorded it to watch later. I was really disappointed and in retrospect the acting is pretty shoddy. I've felt that with quite a few films of late, I've been watching the reruns of all the Bond films, and as throwaway as the older ones were intended to be, I thought they'd aged really badly.

Agree on that too pal, I can't watch the old Bonds apart from the first Timothy Dalton one and after that I just stick to the Daniel Craig ones.

Prior to watching them again, I thought Pierce Brosnans run was a good one, but it really wasn't. Maybe the huge step up in storytelling and acting quality from Craigs tenure has shown the old ones up further.

To be fair, they probably stood up to time the best... Though he really shouldn't have gone to a View to a Kill. He looked old enough to be considered for US president!

I'm sure there's some Bond innuendo that could be used in reply!

Definitely and it will have to be delivered with the Roger Moore smile and charm.

The best line - "I think he's attempting re entry." Name that film.
