"orrr, we play too many games" "Would you like to go and make multi £millions from a massive long haul journey in the middle of the busiest bit of the season" "yes please"
The whole elite system has long been thus. Fail in the champions league. (Created from the european cup knockout system) Entry into the Europa league. If finishing 3rd out of 4. I just wish it would all implode. World club champions, now 4 teams involved instead of 2. Bless their little hearts. Reduced premier/top division from 22 to 20. Reason. "We are playing too many games" lying, greedy b'stds
I've no problem with the concept. It pits the best club from each continental competition to find the best in the world. That is a great concept, but why do City and Fluminense get a pass to the semi-finals. They should both start at the first round - although it would be difficult with only 6 teams, so they should probably play two groups with the top teams playing in the final.
Hell bent on trying to get a super league of sorts up and running. The upcoming changes to the champions league is yet another step towards it too
Nothing wrong with the club world club. I don’t think it should be played in the Middle East but it should happen every year.
I dont mind this one. Id change the format but no issue with the winner of the CL or its equivalent playing each other once a year
Actually started with 7 teams on 12th December. City get a bye into semi final, but will still have to play twice as ther is a 3rd place play off match! Not to be confused with the UEFA Super Cup when they had to play the Europa league winners Sevilla back in August
Not sure what you mean by "Guess the venue"? I don't agree with it being in Saudi specifically if that's your point, but if you're suggesting it should be played at home for one of those clubs, how is it any different to the World Cup?
