Boring or Interesting were his nicknames … Spitting Image came up with the titles.
He was a dam good player though and don’t think he was right bothered whilst winning a million in prize money ( and the infamous Lada !!! )

I fully respect people who think there were more deserving cases, and obviously as a woman involved in football, I am biased.
The thing for me is that the Lionesses had to listen to all the bigots telling them that their (female) brand of football isn’t good enough. Then when they won at Wembley, and filled it to capacity, the same bigots said it didn’t count because people don’t support women’s club matches.
Then they filled stadiums for club matches, but that doesn’t count because tickets are cheap.
Now the public vote has decided that not only a women’s player should win, but a Goalkeeper - you know one of those embarrassing people in Women’s football.
You need to support them not just for the final they said ……

    There you go…….

Think a lot of people underestimate the effect the success of the Women’s England team has had on Women’s football.
It was a growing sport in its own right but they pushed it on to new levels much faster than would ever have happened without it.
People will look back and see that in time similar to what happened to Snooker in the 80’s & Darts in the 90’s.

She won The Finalissima with her team. She also won the Golden Glove in both the World Cup and also the WSL. So I think it's a bit unfair to say she hasn't won anything this year just because she didn't win the World Cup. If that's the requirement, no male footballer should have won for the past almost 60 years.

What did Ryan Giggs win in 2009?
What did Michael Owen win in 1998?
What did Paul Gascoigne win in 1990?

Earps is absolutely brilliant. My mate who works for the beeb was filming her last week, said she's genuinely one of the loveliest people he's ever worked with.

She's sold more keeper shirts than Pickford and that's despite Nike initially saying they weren't doing them cos there was no demand.

Even if someone agreed with his initial point, he's now completely changing the subject. Complete and utter hypocrite. Why anybody went near him is beyond me. I feel sorry for his wife & kids.

Spot on. In the beginning I thought maybe he is a bit of a flawed genius or philosopher. Then I realised that's part of how he manipulates the media and public.

These last few weeks he's made a few points. Some I actually thought were just in all honesty but they were born out of hate.

The next question will be what points were you actually in agreement but that isn't the point.

The man's an arsehole and deserves all he gets.

To clarify my previous point and add balance I don't agree with male pundits in women's football for tht matter because since 1966 they've achieved nothing compared to their female counterparts.

Fair enough - For Giggs I used the “official reasoning” for him winning which was “800th appearance and making the champions league final” and didn’t bother checking beyond that. I couldn’t find that snippet for the rest so actually checked for them!

I honestly can't wait for the day that someone beats Barton to within an inch of his pathetic little life. It will come soon too. Scum like him always have to pick on someone and soon he will pick on the wrong ******* who puts him u hospital. And when he does I will make sure Im there to visit the little ***** and laugh in his face.

I'd love Mary Earps to call Barton out on this. 100 penalties. Every one missed, £10k to a victims of domestic abuse charity. I reckon he'd sky atleast 20.

Not really. He's a convicted thug with a long history of abusing his position and violence against others. He's also an absolute utter c u n t of the highest order with views that are reprehensible. Like I said, I hope he tries to pick a fight with someone who puts him in hospital so I can have a good laugh at his expense.

If you think it's extreme to want a racist, sexist, thug to get what's coming to him then I have to wonder why that is. Then again you have expressed some ******* weird views in this thread (and others) towards women so I'm not exactly surprised to see you aren't happy that Joey Barton is criticised.
