Barcelona are a strange one. I've never been close to how they've run things, however I've always been under the impression it was a 'fan-owned' Club, which I always considered a good thing. I've kind of always held the general view that fan-owned Clubs were protected from this kind of shizzle.

Sure that's the case of fan ran etc
But even fans can be turned by a greasy palm or 2.
Fans are greedy too. Wanting easy and quick success. So even fans can say, let's sell our TV rights for the next 25 years in return for an immediate injection of 300 million (I think it was).

Bugger what happens in the next 25 years like. I hope they go bust.

Quite honestly the ECJ shouldn't get involved with the ESL, it's up to the ELB to decide the fate of the ELO and when they've seen sense the GIA and the GCC will probably decide in favour of the ESL or as it will no doubt be called, the EWF.
It was always going to happen, it was just the format that was in question.

    Same.

Try working in the education sector, there's so much initialising that every communication I'm sent is as near to nonsense as makes no difference.

You can never have too many TLAs.

I was always taught, that when using Three Letter Acronyms (TLA), you always wrote it out in full the first time and included the TLA in parentheses. After that, you could use the TLA freely in the text.

I don't disagree with you, but for me football loses something when the top leagues are closed off and there's no possibility of breaching into it

Yes, that's the way I'd do it, especially in a formal piece of writing. I probably wouldn't bother if it was informal and the TLA was widely understood (BMW, KFC, BBC).

I've never seen the Greed League as a realistic objective. I'm in my 63rd season; one of those in the top flight and that came right out of the blue.
It won't happen again in my lifetime and I'm not in the least bit bothered about that.

Great opportunity for Man City to cut a deal with the Premier League and kill the 115 FFP nonsense and the Super League in one go.

Watch me give two fooks about the plastic clubs buggering off into their own little insignificant universe.
The fans will be in for a suprise when the cost of everything they hold dear, especially the travel, sky rockets.

Let them go. In fact I'll give a fiver to each club who wants to **** off and buy them a card too.

And once they've gone fans should boycott any TV station that airs their games. Not just a case of not watching the matches if sky bids for the rights then sky gets subscriptions cancelled.

Let the clubs who choose to go become lepers. Give them our blessing and laugh as they go under from practically zero TV revenue, no viewers and no interest in their matches or their clubs at all.

FIFA may have no power to stop them but fans hold ALL the power with football clubs these days. Without the shirt sales and TV revenue they'd all go under in a matter of months. So let them do it and let them die

I think I'm pretty much with you there. I'd like us to a well run, community Club, that's exciting to watch and mostly competitive in the 2nd tier. No real desires beyond that.

The reports I've seen suggest that they are saying all games will be free to view on their own streaming channel, so god knows where all the money will come from to pay the greed clubs their 30 pieces of silver.
