It was originally scheduled to be played this coming Saturday like everyone else but Derby and Lincoln got permission from the EFL to bring it forward a day to Friday to give their players extra rest over Christmas and not have to play the same 2 matches in 3 days that the rest of the league has to. This decision was made back in the summer when the fixtures came out. Then derby council and police decided that they couldn't handle a match on Friday night just before Christmas, presumably because it's mad Friday so they brought it forward an extra day.
Think we’ll struggle to stay with Pompey, Posh, Bolton and Derby anyway. Not sure about Oxford and be surprised if Stevenage stay the distance. Big game for our top 6 hopes on Saturday.
We only have 2 games in hand over Stevenage, it's 1 over every other team in the top 6, excluding Bolton. Recent form would suggest they won't lose two on the bounce, even if we did win 2 and I know one of those is against them.
I think most of us have been saying Oxford and Stevenage won't stay the distance since the start of the season. We're nearly half way through now and they're still there.
In fairness knowing the history between the two set of fans I’m not surprised the local Police were concerned over it being on the Friday. That said it does question why it was allowed in the first place to be moved to the Friday.
I'm sure your right but to be 7th going into the festive period means we're still very much in the mix for the playoffs or a push for the top 2.
Possibly because Forest are at home on Saturday, against Bournemouth. So a big game for them before Xmas. Think most clubs are expecting bumper crowds tomorrow.
