Didn't have a problem with the sub at the end of the day Connell hasn't been back too long. Whilst Russell didn't too bad, I just don't think he'll ever cut the mustard and develop into more, I'm not trying to be unkind but his brain and body don't seem to work in tandem, when faced with multiple options he just can't compute.
I have done plenty of grumbles at Collins lately on here. But credit where it was due we were three up and those he brought on should have grabbed the chance to impress with both hands. What if he had kept Connell on longer and he had got a second booking? People would have moaned that we were now missing a key player because he was played too long in a match that was already won. What if key players had to go off with niggles from playing too much in a short space of time? Again people would have moaned that they should have been subbed off by that point. My moans for the second half are entirely on the players on the pitch. Three up with twenty minutes to go you should be able to see out a comfortable win. Our subs today can't complain if they see little if any game time against Peterborough.
I think he's a very skillful player. When he's got a lot of time. In fact, he looks a world beater when he's got a lot of time. But in a frantic League 1 game , I do think he struggles.
Could of gone for the throat but collins I still don't rate at all. Better teams will beat us again. Ubtill he gets results against teams like Derby and Peterbrough, I might start to reverse my opinion.
I'm not getting it that Collins is getting all the blame. 4 games in 10 days. The players have to take some responsibility. It was reasonable for him to take players off for varying reasons. Without criticising too much. Panic stations set in and some players were all to quick to get shut of the ball. And at times reluctant to get a proper challenge in. A bit like Portsmouth at home. Their manager must have been pulling his hair out second half, we dominated that much.
"Why doesn't Jalo get more time?" - every-single-game. "He should never have taken the striker off" - today. Wild behaviour.
Remind us all....what happened after you said it was game over in our last home match when we went 1 nil down.
Exactly. Collins played the hand he's been dealt with 3 up and 2 more games to come. People are reacting like we don't play again until next Tuesday.
With a £10m defence last season, you could go for the throat as the confidence and ability was there at the back. This season, it ain’t there, which was proven yesterday in the 2nd half. That is why Collins is more cautious - because he is forced to be. If anything, it highlights that last season, Duff perhaps underperformed with that team….. Collins, with weakened squad, it’s still a point ahead and more GD than this time last year.
13 out of the last 15 points. Clueless it should have been 5 straight wins. He better win at Peterborough or he has got to go
Case in most football games - team is well ahead at half time and the team winning takes their foot off the gas. Teams plenty up at half time rarely fo onto punish teams in the second half
Been away, dint see game but when i saw the result i was thrilled, a win away regardless of how its done is a tick in my box, 7th wi games in hand, keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
