Picking up on a few trends over the last few weeks/months…….. Folk these days (especially in my circle) Christmas is **** England is **** and a **** hole Barnsley are **** Now a get that things aren’t always great but why do folk think it’s ‘cool’ to jump on these bandwagons??? A like to think I’m glass half full with most subjects, if folk think I’m barmy then so be it but why the **** do folk love to peddle negativity, honestly our WhatsApp groups are full of folk who can’t wait to go ‘told you so’
Tha needs to get into older circles lol. Thi dad n me to start with. . Some people I'm afraid. Are not happy unless its summat they can moan about. Which in lots of cases is the norm for everything. . Glad I dont live in that world.(in their heads) miserable lovely people.
Because we live in a shitty, nihilistic, post-truth society dominated by social media, and people are more concerned about not getting "dunked on" than expressing enjoyment or positivity. Anybody sticking their head above the parapet and breaking the norm gets mown down (see JAQ) as we all become gradually more neurotic.
Talking of stuff in fashion …. Our kids bought us a record player for Christmas. They are both into buying vinyl. My youngest even showed me how to take the record out of the sleeve, and line it up. Tried to politely say I remembered it from the first time around. So now we have this bizarre scenario where we have a house full of CDs, subscriptions for spotify, and now we have to start hunting around for vinyl records when we can easily access whatever tracks we need by the touch of a screen.
You should have got out the piezo antistatic gun, and the roll of masking tape on a handle, plus the rotary vac cleaner... I've got them all somewhere.
I've really enjoyed Christmas, love England with plenty of places to go and beautiful countryside. Barnsley Town centre is brilliant and you reds are pushing for promotion.
I chose to watch a band i like mate. With match on ifollow on mi phone. Tough choice but best of both. Tbh I didn't fancy either. But mi mrs insisted . Thi mam will explain.
England is **** though isn't it. The last 15 or so years has been a complete tailspin of hardship - save for the "top" 1% of society. Does it make me want to leave? Yeah I'd love to. It's difficult though with family and friends in the area, and the financial and social battles that would have to be fought to settle elsewhere. I probably should have gone to Spain about 10 years ago, opened an Irish Bar, called myself an ex-Pat (definitely not an immigrant), then voted for Brexit to make it harder for other people to do the same thing.
England's **** because of the sky high house prices, interest rates the lack of opportunity for young people, town centers on there arses empty shops and druggie/down and outs always walking around, ex service men homeless, struggles to see a g.p, lack of availability to see a NHS dentist if your not currently registered, and I Darent even touch on immigration because I'd get called all sorts but that's what makes England **** for me and that's just scratching the surface. As for barnsley I've seen improvement recently so hopefully we can kick on in new year.. Happy new year.
Style over substance, false aspiration, corporate rip off I’m not being high and mighty because I’m often sucked in myself.,,
