McCart is the least terrible defender of a dreadfully sub-standard bunch. That's about it. He's a reasonable low to mid-table 4th Division uncultured stopper at his best.

This defence averages 2.8 goals per game conceded against other sides in the Top 6 - despite 80% of our games against them having been at home.

Imagine knowing that you have to go out and score 3 times to even then only have a 20% chance of winning a big game!!!

This defence has not kept a clean sheet against any team currently in the top half of the L1 table. Not one.

McCart is no way a Championship defender. That's why we have him. He's a bang average L1 defender, but so are the rest of them TBH. Mael is the better footballer, but still has frailties, but in the current back 3, that's as good as it is going to get.

 

Port Vale's defence on average concedes 7 goals a game away at the side currently occupying 6th position in the league.

 

This season, in a sample size of one - that's a very silly post, especially for you. I know you try to put a clapper spin on most things but even you can't argue with a clear set of facts over 11 games.

 

But, I do wonder if these football "analysts" actually analyse like this.
