Bloody hell, what kind of a nursery school are they running where these chain of events happen unchecked.
    Or not.

If Tykes Tv have said it, well it can't be wrong then can it. :D
While I find it very easy to believe that he was forced out by the clueless and unprofessional Khaledo, none of us really know the truth do we.
And I doubt if he will end up back here, even if he has possibly suggested a return.

My take on the Norwood situation is that he wanted more security than a year contract that we were offering. Oldham offered him a lower weekly wage, but for 3 years, so in effect the contract is more lucrative. Adding the fact it is nearer to his home.

I'm not doubting there may have been some ructions behind the scenes, perhaps due to the fact we wouldn't offer him more than a year, and so there may have been a feeling for him that he was being forced out as he saw it.

Would I have him back? I think I would tbh. He was the nasty sh1thouse of a forward that made us difficult to defend against, opposition knew they were in for a hard time. Perhaps we could just loan him back for rest of season?

Either way, I'd be happy if James did come back on loan for the rest of the season.
If it didn't work out then fair enough, at least it was a positive move etc.
But let's say he proved to be what we're missing up front, and added some important competition to a few other strikers, who have been disappointing to say the least!.
And if there's the incentive for him again, to help us go for promotion, then yeah let's get the deal done!.

Whether true or not - If Norwood actually wanted to stay - he would’ve kept quiet.

The outcome by saying this, is clearly bye-bye - in any well run business. No surprise….

That's why clubs make players and coaches and most probably head physio's ( Sedgey now Vicky:D) have to sign a non disclosure if they want to get paid up when they leave.. Only one side of the story ever comes out.

Players & Coachesnon fixed contracts most likely but regular employees don’t have to sign to get paid up they are entitled to what they have earned.

Whatever the truth is about Norwood, and i suspect there is an element of truth at least in that he didn’t really want to go, it is surely concerning to all that long term, excellent and loyal employees like Sedg, and apparently now Vikki Stevens, are putting in notice to go to a club just down the road for a one or two step demotion?

Because they’ll maybe get a little more money - and a properly defined physio role? What’s that about?

We had the stretch debacle as well; I still think they could have done more to keep him within the club. Whatever anyone within the club says, including contributors (or former contributors) to this forum.

The club seems to have a foul stench about it behind the scenes. Something isn’t right.

So evidently as witnessed time and time again something isn’t great at the club in terms of retaining staff. That suggest the culture isn’t right. I’m guessing we have trimmed the fat as much as possible and now it’s leading to people being overworked.

If people want to move on to better themselves financially who are we to praise or condemn. Its probably not even a football issue.People have the right to move its not a slave trade.

I think it's been eluded to on here before that we have a fairly small behind the scenes staff number in order to maximise the budget for actual players. Great in theory but that's led to a squad that is too large and staff that are likely overworked and underpaid for the amount of work they are doing. Can't blame anyone for leaving in those circumstances but questions need to be asked of the club if folk are able to go to similar size clubs for more money yet in positions lower down the pecking order than they currently are here.

You do realise both could be true? If a player is told to leave and then looks at his options and chooses one, the manager can say that he chose to sign for a club that offered a good contract, whilst missing out the bit about why he was leaving in the first place, so what he’s saying is correct, albeit not the whole story.

Another example of this would be a manager wanting a right back, the recruitment team telling him three right backs he should choose from, the manager choosing one and then the Chief Executive says “it’s the manager who chooses the players we sign”, missing out the bit “from the limited pool we made available for him to choose from”

Please note, neither Norwood nor Khaled have said anything to me, I’m just making the observation that more than one person can give their version of events which, whilst seemingly contradicting each other, are both sort of true.

Norwood never stays at a club long he's had more clubs than tiger Woods.

    This is true.

We cut our cloth accordingly - which means wages are average and staff do more than their role would suggest. I know Sedg did more than he was supposed to.

Time comes when they have to think of their careers and earnings - so therefore they have to move on to do that.

Without putting the club into debt, the only way of realistically retaining good staff is to become a settled back in the Championship and increase commercial revenue.

It’s not a cloak and dagger thing, and happens in lots of businesses.
