A fantastic forwards goal.Sometimes you've got to hold your hands up.If that would have been a Barnsley goal we'd have been raving about it.

Chris Martin… every time I see that name you just know he’s going to bag against us.

It was a great header for sure and one of many fantastic crosses they put in. Like Charlton and Wigan, if they had an end product they would have taken 3 points home.

I don't know which Chris Martin I dislike more - the footballer or the bore from Coldplay.

I was a little worried when I saw that he was playing, because despite his age, he's still scored regularly throughout his career. A player who probably could still get a championship team; Rotherham would have been better going for someone like him as a target man rather than Hugill or Eaves.

I actually thought Mael dealt with him very well for the most part. It was one of his better games for us, and despite his lack of pace, he martialed Brown in particular out of the game very well.

That was always going to be our achilles heel yesterday though, those whipped balls towards Martin. Thankfully we limited them to just that 1.

Yep agree.. both those games we could have lost..
But 'glass half full' ain't we grinding out results and still winning when not at our best

Ed.. we keep saying 5'hit league but both Charlton and Bristol were decent and they're only half way up

That showed our lack of height in defence. Good goal but basically a free header.

I actually applauded the goal. A really good cross and header.

I probably would have done as well, if we'd been 3 or 4 up at the time!

Not sure it was about height Hf it seemed to be more about timing and a great connection.

Back in the 1960s reporting days that would have been described as a “picture goal”. Most teams seemed to have a big number nine and it wasn’t uncommon for them to get on the end of good crosses like Martin did yesterday. I’ve seen quite a few powerful headers find the net from the edge of the area but it doesn’t seem to happen so often these days.

Chris Martin is a bit of a throwback to earlier times and I wish we had managed to sign him before he went to Bristol.

Could be wrong but I think Martin only has a contract with them until this month. If so, no doubt he’ll sign for someone we’ve got to play so he can score against us again!

He’d have been a great replacement for Norwood and a great mentor for the young forwards in our squad.

If so I would be in for him on a short term deal to boost our chances of promotion. It’s so obvious isn’t it?

Williams was nowhere near ever getting to that height mate. It was a good goal as said B. But a decent sized CH would have made it a lot harder imo. Having seen it a few times it shows why Williams imo will never be a centre half.
