I thought the weather forecasts have been saying the temperatures would be in double figures at the weekend?
That’s what the forecast said. I was hoping my lads game would be off this weekend as I’ve been ill all week, but looks like I’ll be out stood in the rain.
Got to be a risk. They posted a training video on the pitch today which looked good but it's very very cold there all week. Fingers crossed might get away with it, Friday a bit warmer and then 6 degrees by ko on Sat. Will that be enough to defrost it?
Stevenage is forecast to be 5° on Sat with up to 30mph winds. Its not going to be above freezing any night this week. I'd say its 50/50.
Today its still cold and another hard frost in Stevenage tonight but the forecast for Stevenage tomorrow is 5C with the temperature dropping to zero then 5 degrees again Saturday. You would hope the game should be OK. Doubt we would be playing if it was today or tomorrow but Saturday I'd expect the pitch to be playable, just depends though if an early pitch inspection is made I could see it being called off before we all set off. PS Its -8 here outside my house at the moment and the ground is solid - forecast to just creep above Freezing then go back to -5 today looks like heating on all day again.
Accuweather says the coldest it will be in Stevenage between now and then is tonight. The coldest it will be on Saturday is 4 degrees, and even Friday, it's not showing as dropping below freezing.
A lot of playing surface to thaw. As for calling off before fans set off, it won’t be a surprise loads will be heading out front door before daylight so to only work on when official coaches leave would be disingenuous and not allow others to try salvage some sort of train refund. We arrive at 1003.
It's 180 miles to Stevenage frum Tarn. AA reckon 3 to 4 hours. So a 10am set off at latest I would think.
Only if you go via Birmingham! Oakwell to Stevenage is 145 miles down the A1. Google Maps has it as 2:45.
