Wasn't the grace of God, it was the current board that got rid.

Absolutely disgusting the way he has been allowed to nearly destroy several football clubs in different countries, and he ends up hiding in toilets...

I hope he disappears, never to be seen again

Not sure what date that happened but they already have a 9 point deduction this season. If this slaps them with a further deduction, they really would look like being in Sunday league next season, assuming they survive.

Should wear a large bell around his neck ,so folk can hear him coming.

Conman would still pass a fit and proper person test even now.

The reading owner has been there 7 years. The EFL aren't the best but surely they can't be expected to see into the future? Same with chansiri. I bet wednesday fans weren't complaining when he took over and spunked millions getting to the championship play off final. The EFL couldn't foresee him turning into a complete fruit loop.

Football governing bodies should be able to have the power to make those running clubs into ground accoutable. Make them cover the loses out of their own personal wealth with no repercussions for the club.

It was clear since the Stendel debacle that Conway stank. I'd argue the ousting of Lee and he has been the best thing to happen to our club in the last decade.

On the Fit and Proper Persons owners test, so clearly not fit for purpose. But why can we not introduce a 'Licence' system, like a pub landlord scenario? To own EFL club shares beyond say, 10%, you need to apply for a licence which needs to be renewed every X amount of years and can be revoked (should they go a bit Dephjon).

Costly? Yes. But charge owners for the licence and some of those costs will be returned.

I'm no financial expert, but i don't think the current UK laws allow for that.

    As in private limited companies

OK in theory but nothing to stop Chansiri (other lovely people are available) from transferring ownership to his wife / sister / brother / significant other when he feels it's starting to go a bit Pete Tong.

Hopefully there is some way to prevent that through Companies House and the registration of shares?

There may be laws that make a Licence unworkable, I'm sure some BBSers will know more about this than me.

Think they could make the licence a requirement for the club being in the league but they wouldn't be able to force that as a requirement of owning the club (aka being the owner of the company) or be able to force a sale so you'd end up with a game of chicken where an owner that doesn't pass the test either has to sell the club or the club would be kicked out of the league. Doesn't sound ideal that for fans? What if nobody wants to pay the owners asking price? What if the owner doesn't want to sell?

I think that was more to do with folk not giving opinions or waiting until the facts were known. That’s a world of difference between believing him or not. Too many numpties jumped on the ‘Conway out’ bandwagon and pointing a finger of blame at pretty much anybody who was acting in the same way, causing right-minded folk to be even more cautious.

I always found when things were good he lapped it up like the stendel season. As soon as we went up he flogged Moore, pinnock and lindsay for peanuts hung stendel out to dry then did that meme of homer Simpson disaperaing into a Bush while things got worse and worse.
