“Inappropriate clothes” what century are we living in?

and obviously ‘blame’ was agreed given an apology was given.

There may have been if it had to operate with todays standards.

We know Jean apologised for her words and actions. So there was wrongdoing.

We know Ellie went on extended sick leave afterwards, and has since left the club.

We know in her absence the club made an absolute clusterfuck of an error.

We know there’s been upheaval after upheaval off the pitch. We know there’s historic mess we are being investigated for, we are led to believe things have improved and yet look.

    What a mess.

She's got more front than Blackpool if she's lying, because she went to another board member.

Is it common for company owners to make apologies to an employee for correctly pointing out inappropriate behaviour from said employee though?

Jean apologised. Therefore accepted her words were poorly chosen.

    I despair.
Part of me thinks "It's only The Athletic FFS"
But part of me thinks "Theres no smoke without fire"

But the biggest part of me thinks that this is not the club I fell in love with all those years ago. The club with a sense of community. The club that did stuff right. The club that was in the public consciousness whenever Parkinson, Williams and Bird were on telly. The club synonymous with proper characters like Rimmo. And working class local legends like Taylor, Jones, Blancflower, Murphy, Glavin, Macca, Redfearn.

However much JAQ and Neerav talk of trying to get things right (no doubt they are trying) it is abundantly clear things are anything but.

    It's not a good look.

Not the message the club should be sending out, given the amount of work they've put into making the club more inclusive this season, particularly for women in football. The best course of action would be for Jean to take a step back from operations, as for me, her actions are indefensible in this particular instance.

Norwood's made himself look a right melt too.

I’ve seen both young male & females wear inappropriate clothing to work.

I can see the frustration in what someone else may perceive to be as unprofessional and distracting workwear.

Standards of professional workwear has lowered imo. And it applies to both sexes.

It can be dealt with professionally though, and doesn’t have to be a major issue.

Anyone else wondering why Norwood is complaining about the fire that happened in October when he left in August. Begs two questions he left something behind but why did he leave it and why had we still been still transporting it. Can only imagine it being boots.

There’s a fair bit of conjecture on this thread.
I wonder who the Athletic’s source is.

I genuinely think they both want positive change, but aren't at the club daily (and understandably so) to get a proper handle on it. We're still missing a full time CEO (I think, I've actually lost track of what we have and haven't recruited for now).

How I understood his tweets, he's lent some of his stuff to someone currently in the squad, and it went up in the fire.

Or cultural norms of acceptable workwear have changed and others have struggled to adapt to the times.

The original clothes comment could just have been a generational thing. Not beyond realms of possibility that JC being a lot older felt a shorter skirt or showing a ‘bit of skin’ elsewhere was inappropriate.
