Earl's a Pearl. Saved De Giveagoalaway's arse last week and did it time and time again today. Hopefully, we can move to a Pines-McCart-Earl defence soon. Pretty sure that even at 55 I'd have got closer and made a better challenge on Moncur for their goal than DeG did.

I thought De Givigney was by far the best , Coke did what Coke does, makes Watters look like a target man, not a clue how he’s top scorer? Probably McAtee next and Connell

He’s the top scorer because he’s a goal scorer and not a target man

Hmm, ok. You’re probably in a minority of one there. Earl oozed class throughout.

    Agree with that back 3

I really like MDG, those marauding runs are great, but he's really soft at times, seems to get bullied far too often and was really disappointed at his attempt to stop Moncur. That said, he's had some good performances and it IS his first season in this country so will cut him some slack

To be fair he did get totally turned inside out on a couple of occasions and let the man get past him - but he did lots really well too.

Not only can he tackle and has a decent bit of pace but he's also a footballer (great distribution).
First rate defender....based on his his first two showings, I'd actually say he's made a bigger impression than Bobby Thomas last season.

After Andersen I'm never again going to judge a defender in their first season too harshly!

Really? Tell me about a mistake he made? Because I didn’t see one.

did you see any of his (many) cross field balls? Or his last ditch tackle to get MDG out of jail..?

I was already a big fan after seeing his performance on his debut at Bolton & today just backed that up.

He’s exactly what we needed. I’d like to think the people who thought McCart was doing well for us will see Earl & realise how much it’s limited us this season having so little pace & height in that back 3 & the added bonus is he’s also far better on the ball than McCart too.

Agreed.. did what all good defenders do and read the game and saw the danger early and when caught 1 on 1 got his body between the ball and the defender and drew the foul that comes in those situations, a added bonus was his distribution .. looks a good buy
