If we go up via any method, do you want to do a Wednesday and sack our promotion sealing manager to potentially give us a better chance of doing well in the Championship?

I'd like to think some fans have had a change of heart and now support him. Given some of the fans on twitter, however, I'm not so sure that's possible...

Depends if he asks for a 400% pay rise, allegedly.

No, that’s not fair at all.

I’ve been vocal about not being his biggest fan but if he gets us promoted he deserves a decent crack at it and the board SHOULD be backing him….

If the average wage in the Championship is 400% more than the average wage in league one, I’m not overly bothered, and would expect the club to move to secure his services.

They may have a promotion bonus in place and maybe a deal for a new deal for him if he takes us up.

One thing I am certain of is they'll be the biggest moaners when Collins does eventually leave us for another opportunity.

I think what's unfair is calling for a managers head, in the middle of a lengthy unbeaten run, whilst in the play-off places and whilst accusing the board of not backing said manager to do the job in hand in the first place. Because that has happened, more than once this season (and it wasn't just you of course).

Do I think Collins is a great manager/head coach? No, not really. We’ve flattered to deceive for much of the season, haven’t played well for a full game more than a couple of times.

But we have gained great results in the main even if not setting the world alight performance wise, we sit in a very strong position, and we have a chance of a fantastic run in with the defensive signings we made.

So, would I support his removal, never mind want it, should he take us up? Don’t be ridiculous. He’d have earnt his chance at the next level, and furthermore I’d hope he’d get a proper go at it as well. I actually think his pragmatism and caution, which I amongst many have complained about this season, might actually be an asset in the early part of a championship campaign next season.

I wouldn’t want him out if we don’t go up either, if it was a playoff defeat or something. If we fall off a Cliff and finish outside the top six - yeah probably. Can’t see that though to be honest.

He needs to stay whether we go up or not. seems as though he likes it here and he needs to be given the time to build

No. Whisper it quietly but he’s slowly winning me over.

The only ones that matter are those with the budgets, hopefully they back him and we aren’t in the situation we usually are when we get promoted and the whole side is ripped apart.

I wasn’t and still not his biggest fan, however, if he gets us out of this division he deserves a shot at the champ, he is still early in his coaching career and we need to remember he’s still learning. Can’t argue with the results though.

I haven’t been particularly impressed with Collins, his style of football (if there is one!) or some of his selections/substitutions, although on that point he has improved a lot. However, we keep winning and have got ourselves in a position whereby if we do manage to click and start playing well consistently, automatic promotion is there for the taking. So it would be pretty unfair to start talking about a change of manager at this point, even if the football has rarely been impressive.

Take today, for instance. Williams, Connell, Kane, Cotter and, to a lesser effect, Cole, were below par. Yet their keeper had to make loads of saves and the team served up a last 10 minutes that makes us remember why we love football. For most of that second half, however, I was bored stiff, watching our defence passing the ball between each other, occasionally playing ourselves into trouble.

But we’re 4th and in a great position. It really has been a strange season though, because we haven’t played well really, only for patches in games, and for the first few months our success was heavily reliant on two people; Cole and Roberts. Having said that, I haven’t really seen any team that has impressed me, apart from maybe Exeter. Leyton Orient were supposedly the form team in the division, but they weren’t particularly good.

I wouldn’t be in favour of changing managers now, even if we do start dropping off. Collins has earned the right to take us to the end of the season, whatever happens. And to answer your other question, no, I wouldn’t be in favour of replacing him if he takes us up. Surely a manager who gets us promoted would deserve a crack at the higher division. Unless we have Klopp lined up?

I've supported Collins all season really really tough gig, very little money to spend, had to pick a team up after the heartbreak of last season, better defenders sold, he's worked a minor miracle with what he's had.
He's made mistakes who doesn't were all human, first job in English football, we're not great on the eye sometimes but it's a case of needs must, he recognises we've got limitations and we have to be effective.

Should we go uo it will be a real struggle, there's no white Knight riding into town with crazy money, we'd have to wheel and deal, beg steal and borrow am afraid that's how it is, don't get stressed about it.

I’ll say what I said before he got the job. If he gets us to the play offs and misses out, I expect him to leave for another job. If he misses out on top 6 he should be sacked. But to get promoted and then sack him, would be crackers.

Wouldn't put him in the the top ten best coaches/managers in my time watching but the blokes got to be in the top one for luckyist. Much rather be lucky than good yesterday and Wycombe defies belief, if you told me we've got 6pts from the position we were in I would have called you a liar. Long may it continue but its worrying when it runs out.

Can’t argue with his record and the football has started to improve a bit too. I just want him to stop playing Jordan Williams as right side CH cos he’s plainly not very good there.

I agree about moving Williams but, to be fair, he was in the RWB position when he played that air shot that led to their goal. I think a complete rest would do him good but, going on Collins’s post-match comments, that looks unlikely.
