Having suspended Peter Bone from the Conservative Party and triggered a by-election, I see the Tories have shown incredible conviction in turning over a new leaf, by choosing a radical new Tory candidate to stand in the forthcoming by-election. His partner.

His wife (ex) doesn't look too happy with the situation.

According to the BBC, this was the price Bone demanded for agreeing not to stand as an independent in the by-election. Hopefully the local voters (who supported the recall petition) will see through this charade and pick someone else.

Although his wife might be hyper-intelligent, logical, laser-focused on delivering Tory policy and invested in helping her potential constituents.....:)

It’s not his wife, it’s his girlfriend who he cheated on his wife with. Hence Hooky’s comment :D

This morning I'm enjoying what for me has been the rare experience of having a Labour MP. It's a nice way to start the day.

Kingswood gone to Labour, too. Part of this constituency falls into Rees-Mogg's patch next time, raising hope that after the GE he will be free to go full-time on Blackshirt TV! :)

Apparently the defeat isn’t as bad as he expected, and is due to a poor turnout, showing they are focusing on the GE because by-elections don’t matter. What an utter bell end, Rees-Mogg is.

Rees-Mogg: "If you add together the Conservative Party vote and the Reform Party vote..."

And why would we do that?

I would be popping the champagne if Rees-Mogg loses his seat next time around. The most odious politician.

Bye elections do matter but are often a protest vote. My fear is it won't be a labour landslide at the GE. (We'd need the scots (SNP voters ) for a start, to change their allegiance back to labour as Starmer says he wouldnt go into a coalition with em.) I pray I'm wrong.

Tories in general imo are more about the individual and not society. And when push comes to shove they turn out in numbers. To make sure they keep their more comfy lavish lifestyle. At a detriment to others. I'm hoping for more tory fekk ups tbh. To dissuade em.
