Given we often sign younger players in the earlier stage of their careers, it’s very, very rare I don’t wish players well when they leave us. Of course, I’m gutted when they do but I always want them to succeed if they’re playing at a higher level than us.
Man United look very ruffled here. After the first 5/10 minutes I thought it would be a cricket score.
I presume we've got a sell on fee for Morris? I've just checked his stats and it says he's got seven PL goals this year. If Luton go down there's got to be one or two bottom end PL teams sniffing round him. Kerching.
Morris was top class. You could see he would end up in the prem one day. Has great physical attributes, has every kind of finish in his locker & can play all along the front 3
As much as I enjoyed Woodrow’s first couple of seasons he did leave on a sour note. His lack of effort in his final season was really disappointing. I couldn’t believe the amount of headers he just refused to challenge for, he’ll never be a combative forward but there’s a certain level of effort I expect from any Barnsley player & he fell way short of it in that last season
It’s a lesson for any player who’s career is stalling- stay in the stiffs in a “big” club and you will probably pick up more money in the short term but you’re likely to be going nowhere. Gamble a move to a lower league, back yourself to do the business and you’ll get your rewards. (same for Woodrow as well really)
I thought Luton could count themselves unlucky not to get anything from that game. As for Carlton, he’ll not be short of interest from other PL clubs if Luton do end up relegated
Will be interesting to see where Morris goes next. Luton may keep him if they stay up, but I think there will be interest either way. Couldn’t see him attracting the big boys, but there’s easily another move there for him and his attributes.
