Seriously? Fair enough he can be a bit of a shithouse but he's also one of the best BFC players I've ever seen and lifted two trophies at Wembley for us. Wildsmith on the other hand - absolutely fair game!
I'm not surprised he celebrated like that after being booed. I don't get why we react like this to players who have done well for us. Hourihane has treated us with nothing but respect whilst playing for us and in the manner he left - but the brain trust still want to boo him.
I'm not a fan of booing or clapping him personally. Both acts are a bit daft when he's celebrating a goal against us like that and dictating the ref.
Exactly this, boo a former player who did superbly for us and then question his celebration. Brain dead morons.
Legend and deserves better. Glad that many of us clapped him off. He doesn't look as good these days. Seems to be played deeper to save his legs and only lasted an hour. Outside of set pieces he doesn't dictate like in his younger days.
I personally don’t boo players, and I respectfully clapped him off it. But he’s not our player and hasn’t been for a long time. I find the idolatry a bit odd. When he’s on the pitch he does everything he can to win a game. Fair dos. The fans are doing the same off it.
I didn’t boo him and have no complaints with clapping him both before before and after game. But those who were clapping him as he took those 2 corners ( second one they scored from), what’s all that about, you might as well clap him just before he takes a pen against us lol.....I don’t get that tbh
How was Cole booked for saying to ref about it being a free kick late on yet Hourihane was in his ear constantly that thrown in debacle was laughable
I clapped him off but I'm a barnsley supporter not Hourihane fan boy.. didn't agree with booing him though.
Booing was maybe a bit harsh but to be honest, I’ve heard much worse. I didn’t boo. Got clapped when he took a corner down in ponty end, which I’m not sure I’d do either. I did clap him as he came off though. Not like I clapped our star players getting subbed but more of a respectful, slow clap.
I didn't boo him and I didn't clap him. As good as he was for us in the past he's not our player anymore. He also looks a shadow of the player we had
I suppose we just lack a bit of class among the support. As one of the fan abase I can say we do have a bit of a chip on our shoulder ‘LIl ol Barnsley’ - that kind of thing. IMO we should just be a bit prouder of who we are and respect those who have given everything for the Club when they pulled on a Red shirt.
