Why oh why can we never take the game to teams like this, why are we always so on the back foot? We are second in the league; we should have gone to Oakwell full of confidence and swagger. Barnsley are the sum total of f*** all and yet we gave them too much respect. Its the Derby way every season, bottling the crunch games.
Sum total of f all is what I'd describe how their reputation ended up as a supposed top flight club, following their last stint there. Even Sheffield Utd have bettered their total...
They don’t really seem to be taking a great deal of notice of us on their forums, with regards to automatic promotion. I do find this a little bit surprising given that we will be on equal points with them, when we win our game in hand,
The Portsmouth forum is the same it,s all Bolton and derby no mention of us.Can,t wait till we play them at their place.
I listened to a Derby podcast which previewed the game. The guy on that interviewed Doug O'Kane from the Chronicle. He said that our form was patchy as we'd only won 2 of the last 5, though he said he was surprised that we are where we are in the league. Whilst not arguing, Doug pointed out that in those 5 games, we took points off Bolton and drew with an in form Shrewsbury side. He also pointed out that we've lost just twice in 22 league games. I've then listened to radio Derby's interview with Eiran Cashin. Both he and the interviewer agreed that a defeat for them yesterday wasn't the end of the world, it just means they've not capitalised on Bolton's mess up at Blackpool. We really are flying under the radar.
I’ve seen some Derby fans complain at our time wasting in the last 20 minutes or so. I might be biased but I don’t remember us going that overboard. AND. Did they not see Wildsmith taking 5 minutes on any goal kick/free kick in the first half? They were clearly time wasting from the first whistle I thought.
Wildsmith should have been booked for time wasting after about 10 minutes. Took him 53 seconds to take a kick
The player that kept going down just after they scored. Didn't seem to be going down when we we 2 1 up. Derby were very poor ,couldn't beleive they are second in the league. They are not in the same class as Ipswich / Plymouth who deserved a top 2 finish. Hoof ball constant ,times many their goally kicked straight to our keeper. When they got it on the floor they put us under pressure. They were looking to capitalise from dead balls etc . Poor team ,Bolton is the team we need to FEAR,beat them at Oakwell and we can start to be optimistic about not being in the dreaded play offs.
Thats cos the crowd was on his back from the first second. Don't think I remember so many poor goal kicks for a long time!
That's fine by me. Think back to the Prem promotion - we stayed under the radar until pretty late on. Let them all worry about each other...
Bolton are a bit shaky at the mo Baz. And tbh we should have won that game away. We dominated most of the game. Doesnt stop the nerves though mate.
Agree. I sometimes think the unfancied clubs. Get unnoticed as if to say. They'll panic. Lose players and not have a big enough squad to cover injuries. Stevenage will fall in to that category. We shouldn't really fit that mould.
