Agree with that. Their best player was Wilson late on. Apart from that not much of note I didn’t think.
He’s been poor at kicking for a long time I think. Ponty end crowd probably knows this to make it even worse. And it works.
Happy with this. Let the so called "bigger" clubs worry about each other and let us get on quietly accumulating points and rising to the top. As an aside, the ******* in me thinks the team has been flying under the radar for most of the season with much of it's own supporter base so it's not suprising other fans aren't getting it
Yeah I know. Win by any means. It is more the cheek of their fans to call us out for it when they were much more guilty of it in my opinion.
I have been saying to a Derby supporting mate since yesterday that they have quite a strong threat from corners and other set piece plays hence their goal. They have what seems to be a pretty big side and had the tactic of sending up their trio of defenders even for free kick from in their own half. This must intimidate a lot of sides and was worrying me in the last 10 minutes and injury time.
Our first choice 11 is the best in the league so I don't see wy they haven't being seeing us a threat
Wildsmith was time wasting from the very first minute, they came for a point and hopefully hit us on the break
Best time to get to 2nd or 1st in the league is at the end of the last day of the season, different kind of pressure when you're already there and expected to go-up.
My overall impression of Derby from yesterday, was that Leyton Orient playing like they did at Oakwell a couple of weeks ago, would tear them to shreds. Certainly didn't look like a promotion chasing team.
Was offside by a decent chunk and got rightfully flagged. Made me laugh how the Dorby fans cheered for it as if it had gone in when I’m not sure from any angle it looked even remotely close to going in. Don’t really remember Gayle touching the ball otherwise. Which I suppose it to be expected given the lack of minutes he’s had recently.
I’ve thought this all season which is why I have been so frustrated until very recently. Whilst appreciating the defence is far stronger now than it was earlier in the season.
Are you sure he missed 5k Darby thought he'd scored. It's a very strange thing time wasting in the first just doesn't count and in the second it's a bookable offence.
Herbie Kane went and complained to the ref at least twice about their timewasting in the first half. One of those was when it was still 0-0. All Derby had were set pieces and gamesmanship. Timewasting until we took the lead and then constant fouling. I was impressed with how we stood up to them. Two incidents really wound me up though. Firstly, their number 20 went down with one of those pained expressions, like a dog had just bitten one of his ******** off, when Cole didn’t even touch him. When he realised the ref hadn’t blown for it and we were attacking he jumped back up. Footballers really are the most pathetic breed, aren’t they. And the second was something I have never seen before and was the pettiest thing I think I’ve ever seen a player do (previous winner was when I saw a player digging the penalty spot up whilst a teammate distracted the ref). One of the Derby players picked up Roberts’ drink bottle and emptied it. How pathetic can you get? What was going through his mind? “Aha, now that I’ve squirted all the juice out of the keeper’s bottle, we will gain the advantage, as he will pause to unstick his tongue from the roof of his mouth before diving for a shot”
Sonny Bradley did that I spotted it too. Just shows what a weak mentality they have doing nonsense stuff like that.
