Some people might find that your need to express yourself in terms of profanities equally as gross.

Perhaps swearing is the new sexism. Or sexism is the new swearing.

 

I would find it patronising and wouldn’t expect anyone to say that to me. I absolutely hate being called love or duck by people, unfortunately as I lived in Lincolnshire for a long time it happened constantly.

 

I wouldn’t do it in a professional capacity though. He was being interviewed on tv.

 

I don't think Brendon Rogers is a particularly nice person and I think he comes across as arrogant and entltied. His response to the reporter is at best patronising and was at worst casual sexism. He's put the reporter in an unwanted position when they were only doing what they were employed to do. What he said was wrong and he should be held to account for it.

 

Held to account?.......Hang him high!!

 

Well I have my own views on everything really. They don't change irrespective of where I am and whoever is watching.

i was in a petrol station with an old boss around 20yrs back, we filled up there all the time, mostly serving was a person going through the change but was now more to the reversal to what we knew, they gave him a free car wash token and boss said "top (sex they were changing against)" i dare not even specify what sex in that!
if you understand that then you realise how ****** up our language and traits have become over the years,
thankfully i work with quite a few women who are old skool, even the young women and take and give banter and give it back some in the good faith/humour meant with absolutely no offence meant
it's not folk being offensive it's just our nature which is now deemed offensive by some

As I say, the opposite of girl is boy. And the only time I can think of where I've heard that is white Americans mainly in southern states speaking to black men. And it made me feel very uncomfortable, it was belittling.

 

No, just point out his short comings which is what's happened.

Yes I did tell them, but if I was in a chippy or supermarket then it would just fall on deaf ears and wouldn’t stop it happening again at a later date. I live in Italy now so not an issue.

Valid point. A family had chemicals thrown over them the other week in London and the horrible lovely people on here discussed football at the weekend
