For the second weekend in a row, we're outsiders with the bookies to get the victory. We're priced currently at 17/10, with the hosts slightly more favourable with the bookies at 17/11. This despite our current away unbeaten run standing at 8 in the league, and 1 defeat in 20 league 1 away games (including the PO Semi Final).

Wycombe's home form is largely quite good, despite only having the 16th best home record in the division. Adam's Park has proved to be a difficult place to visit this year, as the hosts are currently on a run of 7 unbeaten at home. This ended a run of 6 without a win at the back end of 2023, including defeats to both Bolton and Stevenage out of the promotion picture. They have taken points off Oxford and Peterbrough (quite comprehensively) in recent memory too. Their overall form at present is okay, though quite inconsistent; their win at home Cheltenham on Tuesday was their first in 4 games, having faced 3 of the top 8 and dropped points leading up to that, though they have lost just twice in their last 7 league matches.

Our record at Wycombe is good, having won 3 of our 5 visits there, drawing once and losing once. Slobodan Tedic's late winner there last season followed up a Cauley Woodrow goal and a Daryl Dike brace, when a 10 man reds side won there in 2021. Our first victory at Wycombe came courtesy of an Isiah Rankin brace in the 03/04 season, having drawn our first visit there the year before, with late goals from Mike Sheron and Bruce Dyer.

Three of Wycombe's front 4 who started the game with Cheltenham on Tuesday have 4 goals this season (Kieran Sadlier is the other and is on 2). Though their danger man is Left Back Luke Leahy, who is their top scorer with 8 league goals. He's been prolific for a full back his entire career though he is on course for his best goal return this year, although he is often rotated in and out of the side, and was a sub recently vs both Oxford and Bolton.

Unless it transpires that he once bought a used Mondeo off a bloke from Hoyland, the referee for this one is Dean Whitestone. Primarily a championship referee, he's issued 75 yellows and 2 reds in 20 games this season, making his card output quite a way below average. He recently issued 9 yellows and a red in Millwall's 1-0 win over Norwich. He last took charge of the reds in a 2-1 defeat away at Blackburn, in 2021. Josh Benson was the only reds player booked in that one, where Carlton Morris equalised on the stroke of half time. He last took charge of a Wycombe game the season before, their 2-1 victory over Bristol City, shortly before their relegation from the Championship. The only card issued that day was to former Wanderers substitute, Alex Pattison.

I fancy us to win this one and continue our impressive away record. I do fear that it could be a bit of a come down after last weekend, similarly to how we lost to Exeter last season after the win at home to Wednesday. I also fear that there's one eye on the game on Tuesday. But hopefully, Neill and the lads are more professional than I'm giving them credit for. I'm obviously going for 1-2, this time with Phillips and Kane on the scoresheet.

I expect us to capitalise on the recent good results on Tuesday by losing 2-0 in a clogfest.

Beating Derby, results going our way in mid week, buoyant fan base, excitement…

everything points towards a 2-0 defeat.

I think if we can dig out a win, there’s a very good chance we will go on to get automatic, and I’ll owe @Jay a load of drinks ;)

With the defence now looking more solid and Williams haring down the right, a win is definitely on the cards 2-1.

Cagey low scoring game with a late winner. 0-1 and both Derby and Bolton dropping points at home...

Very tough game, ugly 1 -0 for me fully expect both Derby & Bolton to win this weekend so it's imperative we keep the heat on.

A very close and bruising game for us, with bookings aplenty, mainly our players as per. Kane will be targeted and will succumb to it leaving him on 10 bookings and a 2 game ban. I do however, feel we won’t lose this, either 1-1 or 2-1 us. Here’s hoping.

After the lord mayor's show - think we'll draw 1-1, which will be a decent point.

Reds' win following nigh on two hours of the usual play-acting, ref-baiting and Neymar style spontaneous unaided diving and rolling around from the men in blue.
