Has been banned from football for 4 years for doping offences. Surely he can argue that on the grounds that he's the second most overrated footalballer in world football. No evidence of his performances being "enhanced".
Neymar. Made a career out of beating a man, then diving for free kicks and penalties, rather than backing himself to score or provide a good cross.
Actually think Rooney is underrated nowadays by a lot of people, either due to his personality, dislike of Manchester United or his managerial career so far. Pogba was overrated by a lot of people, they rated him on his potential, not his current actual talent - but his performances in the world cup and his early days at Juventus undoubtedly show he had plenty of it. Could easily have been one of the best had he not had a stinking attitude and a lackadaisical approach to training & learning, his technical ability was right up there. Should never have rejoined United.
Completely agree about Rooney. I was never his biggest fan because he played for Man Utd but he had about 10 years where he was exceptional. Burning out young & looking poor in his latter days at Man Utd & then at Everton seems to count against him but he still had a long peak from about 17-28 it was just his came earlier than the typical 21-32 type peak. It’s mad to think Rooney has been finished at the top level for about 6-7 years yet Young & Milner who are pretty much the same age are still regulars in the premier league.
As much as I dislike him I’d still give Neymar more credit than Pogba for his years at Barca. He was brilliant there. It was more when he got the move to PSG & his ego was out of control as the big fish in the pond where it all went wrong.
To be fair, I've probably seen him the most when he's played for Brazil. Certainly in the last 2 World Cups, he's come with all the fanfare and done little to back it up. I actually think he injured himself at the last world cup trying to contort his body to look like he'd been fouled. I could be misremembering. Maybe it was after he left Barcelona then that his ego got the better of him.
Hederson for me how the fook did he ever get into an England jersey i'll never know, but Naymar an Pogba, good shout.
Certainly mate, the type of player Rooney was, he could have still been playing too had he taken care of his fitness. Similar to how Kane plays, drops real deep. Would basically be a deep midfielder now. Get someone to do his running for him and he'd still have it, ala Pirlo style.
