Remarkable. Less than a quid a game for a u14 season ticket even if miss every midweek game including school holidays. Some tight folk on that board ha. Seeing through it, we just want numbers in the stand for this big game, don’t we?

Seriously? At the fan advisory board meeting people were moaning that the under 14s ticket didn't offer good enough value for money? It cost ten quid for the entire season which even if it was only used for Saturday games this season is 667p per game. 67 ******* pence per game and people have moaned it isn't good value for money so they want to upgrade it to an adult ticket for a game?

It’s so cheap, if I had a kid that wasn’t interested in football I’d buy the ticket just for the extra space next to me each game.

People already do - hence the club posting this.

However, the upgrade option isn’t new - they’ve always done it - you just pay the price difference between junior and adult to upgrade.

Worth every adult buying a season for a kid next season so if they are daft enough to do this deal again people can use the free upgrade to bring someone they know.

Not exactly. It was a wider discussion about adding value to ticket holders of all sorts. I think while discussing Junior season tickets someone suggested that quite a few junior tickets might not get used for the Bolton game because it was a school night and it would be good if they could upgrade their ticket to ensure we get bums on seats for the big game. That’s where it came from.

That's completely different to how the club described it. Makes sense to get bums on seats but the notion of them not being value for money is mental.

If they're going to do that with the basically free kids tickets it would be good to allow all season tickets holders to bring a friend for free once a season to get new people in.

It was a conversation about value, and I suppose it was discussed about them being of less value because Tuesday night games might not be good for some age ranges (I won’t bring my 9 year old for instance unless it was school holidays). So I think the article is correct in that respect. What it doesn’t talk about is the wider context of the discussion, which it probably doesnt need to, which was about how value can be added to season tickets and there was no one saying that the U14 ticket is poor value. Quite the opposite!

Great offer. Although in my view unnecessary.. upgrade yes. Free no.
My son will get one for his mate. ( As he has 2 u14s) He's Coming over from Leyland. (Barnsley fan)
But wonders whether in future there will be, or is, a simple solution to give those 2 seats up when the kids are not going to attend for whatever reason. Day or night games.

Further to my previous post. I mentioned at the club today the release of seats. (My son has taken advantage of the offer.) And was told A simple email or phone call and you can release those seats when not needed.
Most games it wouldn't be necessary. But At the price they cost compared to value for money why wouldn't you, when demand may exceed supply.

This would be tremendous but unfortunately no one answers the phone on the number given and it simply rings out, there is no queueing system or ring back.
