Been down to Wycombe today. It was a really good game of football with both sides getting it down and attacking, Wycombe deserve a lot of credit they were better than most sides I’ve seen in this league. In the first half we seemed to just lack the right touch in good positions, but some of the attacking play was very good for 20 minutes in the second half we tore them apart before we settled for 4-2. Our defence looked shaky all the way through but that’s to be expected with the changes we’ve made in there and I’m more confident they will come good now. I’ve been very critical of Collins at times this season but that was a superb away win when we really needed one. I’m starting to come round to the idea that he’s an excellent man manager because you don’t come from behind this often by fluke. To come from behind twice in one game at a place like Wycombe is outstanding in my opinion. Well done Neill and the boys, onto Tuesday.
Glad you enjoyed a great game mate and yes Neil deserves a lot of credit for knitting together a great group of players into what looks like a winning machine at the moment.
That 20 minutes, after the sickener of conceding a 2nd, was as good as you’ll see all season. How to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and win it. Well in reds.
All the three of our rivals for autos had very winnable games today. Only ours looked like a potential banana skin. Got to be the L1 performance of the day.
Agree the defence still look a bit shakey but the big difference is a few weeks ago ye couldnt see where they could improve but now this defence has the potential to be sh*t hot...Earl coming forward is magic and Mael and Pines getting goals. Won 2 huge games recently and if we win on Tuesday it's all to play for...COYR
Individually they look good, they’re just not their as a unit yet. Like you say there’s so much potential there now if they can sort their organisation and communication out.
I'd never have guessed at a 2 -4 score. We're looking better with each match, should be an exciting end to the season!
Never been a member of the "sack the manager" bregade and was always willing to give him time. I honestly thought this season would be a bit of a struggle as the squad was rebuilt, so kudos to Collins for the job he's doing. Big game on Tuesday, win that and top two is there for the taking.
I think he's a bit like Barnsley FC and goes under the radar. I said from the off this season that I wanted a manager who will stay with us for a few seasons and I'm happy that Neill seems to fit the bill .
