Make your own luck in sport, ref didn't force us to try park the bus at 2 nil then take a striker off for a midfielder. Not the 1st time this season we've thrown a 2 goal lead away to a top side. They were well on top that 2nd half and deserved the draw at least. The draw wasn't a bad result for us at all so hopefully we can kick on now with a good run in on paper.
Collin's has grown on me this season but that 2nd half performance was on him and his decisions. Hopefully he learns from it
We were in control but went to sleep for the first goal and that completely changed the game for me. They battered us last half hour so can’t really complain. They could bring on some decent quality from the bench and we couldn’t.
I'd best be careful what I say on this thread after the weekend . Clearly the decision to not award a free kick for an obvious foul on Cosgrove was extremely poor and this would have led to a different passage of play. However, ultimately Earl gave the ref a decision to make, I've seen them given and not given so not too many complaints over the penalty decision. Thought Earl may have got away with one earlier in the game too. I'm disappointed at how alowly our players reacted to the initial penalty save, there's no excuses for that.
Yep, reaction after pen save was poor. Bolton looked to have 3 players closer to the ball than any of ours.
Struggled to win second balls all night, Connell, Kane and Phillips ineffective, Cosgrove should have been on earlier, their defence in the 1st half looked like a pub team.
Totally in control. A quick slick movement for their first goal while we were asleep. Then they lifted their game and we lost any momentum we had. I don't blame Collins at all. Imo we were under the cosh and the subs didn't help. Happens often. We've done it ourselves. Absolutely gutted.
