So soft that penalty. Comical after the assault on Cosgrove

Rubbish defending from Cadden and Pines for the first. Even worse defending / commitment for the follow up to the penalty.

You can’t tell from the reply if it was a foul or not for the penalty. The ref had a great view and loads better than the reply or as a fan in the ground so you have to assume it was right.

The second goalscorer definitely encroached on the penalty. He would have had to start outside the 'D' and if you watch closely, the outer portion is not visible to the camera angle but the player came into view at the same time the kick was taken.

Shouldn't have stood. But it's moot because if it was taken again he would have almost certainly scored the penalty anyway.

And the ref was behind 2 players when he "saw the foul "

What ever, the game was fantastic apart from the points dropping 2. Having said that Bolton were a good side.

There's no encroachment, only after the kick is taken do players enter the box, our players were asleep Bolton's weren't

As blatant a reckless dangerous play red card foul as you'll ever see for the foul on Williams when he clears off the line - no free kick given.

So mad about that. We get that foul and the clock runs down when we go to the corner flag. That was a worse decision than awarding a pen.

Lino 5 yards away from it!

Flagged his little arm off for an earlier "foul" in front of him as well in favour of their fullback.

In the interest of fairness, there was also what looked an absolute stonewall penalty for Bolton turned down before the one they were awarded - can't find a clip of it now but Earl (I think) pulled one of their players over when they were clean through, though they still got a shot off. No complaints if a red and penalty had been given.

Basically the referee was absolute turd for both sides, it just rankles more for us because he didn't give the foul on Cosgrove that would've meant their penalty didn't happen.

    Edit: this one

Yep earl headed a short ball back to Roberts then was all over there striker got lucky there as it was more of a pen than the one that was awarded.
Should have learnt from the 1st incident about shirt grabbing.

They are not allowed inside the D not just the box. Thats why the D exists.

That’s the only reason the D exists, so that players are are a minimum of 10 yards away from the kicker

Wouldn't it be an indirect free kick for the encroachment given the penalty wasn't scored?

Yes, if it was just their player/s that encroached. If players from both sides encroached then the kick would’ve/should’ve been retaken. If it was just our players encroaching then a goal would stand if scored, or retaken if missed

The only 0layer encroaching was Kane but then he stood around dreaming:
