We drew to a 96th minute penalty. This is poor take in my opinion, i feel like he was good the first half and definitely was putting in an excellent shift closing the ball down when he could, making invaluable runs which most of the time doesn't get picked out by the pass, challenging for balls against a centre back who had about 6 inch and 5 stone on him. He clearly tired in the second half which is why the substitution i'm my opinion should've come 10 minutes earlier from Collins to replace him.
TIC. Cos he can't. But Because the lazy bugger. Went off after 94 minutes. 2-1 up. Gave the penalty away from the bench. And should have banged 5 in afore he went off. We will struggle imo to replace him if he goes mate. Strikers are a premium. And we will all be chasing the best available.
There's always been an element on the BBS that have a go at certain players for their work rate, even if it's self evident that said player is being successful. Nobody can argue that Cole hasn't been a success this season.
All UK bats feed on insects, so their droppings are made up of dried insect remains. Bat droppings can sometimes be mistaken for mouse droppings (and BBS posts) but unlike mouse droppings they do not contain any moisture and therefore will crumble easily (and look slightly sparkly when crumbled). Al get mi coyt.
I can't believe the criticism our leading goal scorer gets. He will be missed when he walks away for free end of season. Then he will get the criticism for being a greedy bas%ard.
Allus makes me chuckle that mate. A football career is not that long. And can be cut short through injury say. Hammill and Hourianne 2 examples who may have set emselves up for life. I'm not sure Cole would achieve that with us. Unless we get promoted and push the boat out to keep him. Same applies to Kane. But age is still on his side. Except for the first paragraph.
Big Vic left to get game time, which he wouldn't have got at Oakwell. Fair play to the bloke ,was a success at Burton and enabled him to get a good contract at Bolton.
I find it strange that there is this accepted situation of players milking the game (ultimately the working class fans) for enough money to retire for good at 35. There's plenty of jobs they can do after their playing days are over, just like the fans who pay their exorbitant wages. This expectation of such is ludicrous, players of the past didn't have that luxury. It's one of the many things I can't stand about the modern game, and why I'm fast turning my back more and more.
I'm not trying saying that (I hate the exuberant wages and would consider a maximum wage. But that isn't ever going to happen) But some players by giving up more stable futures, Eg some choosing it over uni. May have to drop into low paid jobs. I worked alongside an ex top tier footballer. At Sheffield utd. In the 80s who was on **** money doing a **** job. Topped up by his savings I assume. Not all footballers are on stupidly exuberant wages. So why wouldnt they try to get the best they can. Their career can be over the next day. I gave up on the premier league years ago. And It's not Just football either.
No I wasn't saying you were condoning it, and I get that not all footballers are earning fortunes. But fact is they do earn a good wedge, 100k p.a. in L2 is fairly standard. So they earn a very good salary for 10 years+, chance to save a bit, also a great chance to prepare for life after footy. They do about 20hrs a week, loads of time to train/educate themselves. Even if it's a job in a factory, or driving a van, why should being a footballer exclude you from doing those jobs? I wouldn't mind if the current level of player wages in the game was still resulting in plenty of money being in the game. But it's not, clubs are going to the wall, or into massive debt, and that is caused by the amount of money going into player's pockets. Fans are asked to pay more and more to fund it. It's not sustainable, and it really shouldn't be happening.
Just for clarity I've criticised 45 minutes of his game and said it was a lazy 45 minutes. I stand by it. We all have off days or days where we can't be arsed at work and that what the second half seemed like to me and if that's how it looks it's how I'll call it. That's not the same as slagging him off continually and hating him or anything like that. Some believe it was a lazy performance, some say he was knackered from the first half. Regardless he should have been taken off far earlier and I believe that keeping him on is what put us o the back foot because we were basically playing with nobody up front after McAtee went off and with constant pressure to deal with we were bound to make a mistake or two, especially our defence who we all know can play brilliantly for most of the game but all have concentration issues.
