Not sure that would even work mate. If I understand you correct. It might reduce the back up of cars waiting to get in. But once full. it's back to square 1.
1 out 1 in. I was shocked at my appointment the other day 8am. Arrived 7:50am. Barely a handful of spaces left. Returned to car around 8:40. Completely full. And a queue at the barrier.
Busy day for me . All for missen. ETE Ears, Teeth and Eyes lol.
    Hospital 8am
    Dentist in town 10:40am
    Glassworks NHS 12:30 pm .

The Claire's unit was a computer game shop originally. Electronic Boutique?

I have absolutely zero photos of myself on my phone and probably one of each person in my family somewhere that to be honest I never look at and were taken because i probably had to for whatever reason but I have and look at photos of things like this, photos of the road i grew up on and the hotels I stayed at when I was a child quite often. I'm a bit of an odd one

    Cheers mate,

that’s a brilliant read, and can only be a good thing for the town, not only will it make use of the under occupied Alhambra but it will undoubtedly boost footfall in the wider town centre people shopping after an appointment staff going for munch etc the accessibility is fantastic with the Alhambra stop I just hope with this news the council will also put some much needed love into the underpass now leading into the Alhambra as it is due an upgrade and the accessibility could be better for less abled people

Great idea for the Alhambra if it goes ahead.
I just hope that BMBC don't go ahead with their plans for building on Westway car park as it will quickly become a very busy, well used car park, being ideally situated for appointments.

Think the Alhambra and the glassworks car parks are perfectly adequate what with the direct bus access now an option for a lot of people which isn’t an option when using the actual hospital

You're right; there was a downstairs too, where Primark is. Woolworths where Iceland is.

The M&S building might be suitable for them?

I seem to remember a Benetton / The Sweater Shop downstairs on the left hand side beside main entrance.

Hats off to all involved, it’s a brilliant idea. There’s a lot of slogans about reimagining the high street etc but this is putting it into action. It’s great for patients and great for the town centre businesses. Win/win.

The Sweater Shop wasn’t open very long and I actually think it was where Claire’s accessories was. Next to that was the entrance into the meat and fish market and the EE store was AllSports for a long time. Primark and TK Maxx was all Coop Living and had escalators in the middle - it felt like a proper department store (albeit smaller than most). CEX/Vodafone was Bon Marchè for a long time. Mothercare was upstairs near Wilko but I don’t remember if they were an original tenant or not. There was also Sugg/Suggs Sport up there too.

Thankyou!!! For years I've told my mum that bon marche was downstairs where they are and she's said no it's always been upstairs. I'm showing her this on Sunday

Yeah it was definitely downstairs at first. I’m struggling to remember the rest, but I’m sure they’ll come to me eventually.

Partners Stationery was next to Woolworths. I think that’s The Works now.

    Yes it was partners there.

One thing that confuses me about the Alhambra is that Iceland is pretty small but I'm sure Woolworths was massive in the same unit. Does that mean there's a lot of empty space behind Iceland?

I think it also incorporated pound stretchers in the next unit.
