Still has the record as the longest serving manager there though surely!?

Did well to last this long at Watford but I'll always love him for what he gave us.

Watford forum are happy... One comment sounds familiar

    He had to go.
It was an awful appointment in the beginning. He was a one trick pony. When he couldn't make his three for three preset substitutions, he was f**ked as he had zero game management. This became plainly obvious in the end as we are now dealing with the real possibility of relegation given the games we have ahead of us

Of their last 20 managers (including 2 caretakers) he has lasted second longest in terms of number of games in charge.

I’ll reply to the point you’re not transparently making.

He would feel we are beneath him. And let’s not forget he left at the earliest opportunity. And the football was often (in spite of results) garbage. Which is actually one of the same often fairly accusation levelled at Collins.

Big Vals time with us blows Collins clean out of the water in my opinion .

Imagine how many managers they'd get through if they went down.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you. But I do think Collins is doing a decent job all told and posting like the op has is basically clickbait (that I’m guilty of engaging with!).

Yeah exactly, that will never change. We were very close to getting back into the Premier league with him, and I still can't believe that season happened like it did.
However, I think the other clubs he's flopped at since (West Brom & Watford), are both making the same familiar sounding criticisms. So maybe there is some truth to it, maybe he is the proverbial one trick pony etc!.

    Today?

He posts smut that wouldn’t make it into an outtake from a carry on film or one of them old fashioned seaside post cards most days - and then today tried to write rationalised posts about being calmer when we lose.

    Each to their own.

The second most successful manager in the illustrious 137 year history of our amazing football club.

He should be afforded the respect that historical significance bestows.

    Valerian Ismael 1 ... the world 176.

He'll be fine. Loved him as Barnsley boss. Few move on to football success from us. They will still earn more in a 3 year contract than some of us make in a lifetime with other clubs.

He did the best he could with the tools he had here.
He did have them well drilled though.

Not a surprise given that Watfords head of recruitment was caught texting Mark Robins and an agent criticising the football against Swansea on Tuesday and the future of Val as coach.
