Connell had too much to do by himself.

I think Kanes absence stood out yesterday.

Agreed. I think Russell played well but there was a lack of creativity yesterday

Yep first 15 mins aside we needed to be on the front foot more ....lack of pace and application in final third.

Taking Cadden and Mcatee off yesterday took away our only creative play in a game we should have been really pushing to win not defending a goalless draw.
Other than those 2 and Kane maybe Connell we haven't got a lot of flair or creativity.

No way did we try to defend a goalless draw yesterday, as much as I was critical of yesterday’s performance I thought We always looked/tried to go forward

We kept going but without any creative players on the pitch to break them down as such nil nil.

With Kane it’s all round. Looking for the pass, holding up the ball, breaking up the play of the opposing side, filling the gaps. Great all round midfielder. Holds the side together. Takes pressure off Philips and Connell. Puts a shift in.

I was saying the same. It was incredibly frustrating towards the later stages of the game seeing the back 3 get the ball and everyone else bar Connell stood miles away, all in a row. We desperately needed someone else to show for the ball. I wonder if even Benson would have been worth bringing on

Can strike a ball but don't class him as a creative midfielder who can dribble sets u passed a few and sets up chances.
Not saying he isn't good but Cadden, Mcatee and Cosgrove who were taken off all 3 seemed to be causing Cheltenham problems then we took em off.
