I think the fact that we are having to throw marsh on to try and change a game despite it never working before tells its own story yet Watters unable to even make the team - poor recruitment in August when it should have been one of our easier seasons to tempt players here after Wembley. I see we are now pinning our hopes on Jalo who let’s be honest is also still finding his way at this level.

I think a lot of frustration yesterday was because there was a chance to make up ground on the top teams and it didn’t happen.

We were up against a team that were pretty limited and we couldn’t find the goal that would have opened up the game. It probably sealed us being a play-off team rather than hopes of automatic hence the disappointment.

On the finances the club has definitely not stabilised. Unless turnover increase by £6m or there is a similar reduction in the wage bill the club are going to lose around £5-£6m a year. Player sales in the last couple of years will offset some of those losses but it’s hard to see in the current crop where any big money transfers are coming from.

I hope I’m wrong but I think we will be in league one next year and we will lose a number of out of contract players.

    Time for new heroes….

Tbf we've done better than MLH as regards winning after we've gone behind!

We’ve gone behind in a hell of a lot more games than Mickey Long Haul did so it’s a good job we have…

We’ve gone from two fantastic results home to derby and especially away at Wycombe, and backed it up with four games where we’ve lost ground both in terms of points and league position but also in terms of confidence and momentum.

We threw away two points (and gifted one back) v Bolton, we were completely abysmal against Lincoln, ok we won at Carlisle, a team who are in 24th position only because there isn’t a 25th - but even then did our very best not to; and then there was the abjectness of yesterday against a toothless relegation threatened Cheltenham.

A draw at home to bolton wouldn’t have been too bad a result before kick off, not at all. But the nature of how it happened, the negative approach and tactics from 2-0 which allowed it, set up all that followed.

There’s some hard work to do over the next two weeks given we’ve no game next week now. Top two is likely gone but we need some momentum, some confidence building, and preferably get the second leg at home in the play offs.

In the football world we get 2 transfer windows a year but in the real world everybody demands instant gratification.....
