It might have been an age thing, but I didn't ever get into Morecambe & Wise. I did however like Corbett & Barker, even as a kid.
Apparently they took offence at Smith & Jones being sarcy about their style of comedy, suggesting it was too old fashioned by then.

Best funny man on TV though is Bob Mortimer.

Obviously not stand up but best storyteller, an absolute legend.

Yh he is my favourite person to watch on TV. His stories from his life are funny and unbelievable but more often than not true. I love his Gone Fishing show with Paul Whitehouse.

    Definitely, really enjoyed it.

Comedy, like music and BFC, is all subject to opinion. I went to see Ross Noble last night, absolutely amazing night of entertainment. The 2000 or so others who joined me, also giggled, guffawed and/or clapped through the 2 hrs. I've also seen Stewart Lee and Peter Kay, and would return to see both again.
All 3 of those comedians structure their show, stories and jokes completely differently, but all with the same aim. Tim Vine is also up there as someone who i'd see again, and a differing take on how to conduct a comedy show..

    • Ross Noble
    • Maisie Adam
    • Reginald D. Hunter
    • Mike Wozniak
    • Ivo Graham
    • Clinton Baptiste
    • Jeff Innocent
    • Stephen Bailey
    • Jason Cook (host)

Just wondered. Like you might have a kind of BBS for Guide Dog people :)

:D We do! I’ve just checked and she is on there and is a mutual friend with Iris’ owner! I don’t know her though. I can see that she does puppy raising which is the really intense stage before they come to us. I’m not sure if we’ve had any of her puppies.

I saw Stephen Bailey at the Leadmill recently. He was the warm up guy, and whilst not my normal kind of comedy (Very camp) he was actually very funny.
We missed out on Wozniak, not sure what to expect from him ( having only seen him on Taskmaster).

My son was given free tickets by a random stranger to see Ross Noble on Sunday in Leeds when he was hanging about - he'd never heard of him (he's 16), said he was hilarious.

The Chris Rea, egg in bath segment is one of my favourite bits of TV ever. Almost another double act that he has formed with David Mitchell whenever he appears on Would I Lie to You.
